Hi Everyone, I have been accepted to take part in an interview for the Disney Cultural Representative program. I was told to study up about Canada, but have no idea on what to study. I was wondering of anyone has done the interview and knows what they're loooking for or if anyone has any good ideas on what to go over. It would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi,

Try posting this on the College Board as most of those posts relate to working at WDW.

Hi, and good luck to you!!!:goodvibes I was supposed to go to the Montreal interview on Oct. 24, but because of a job offer and my family, I opted to stay home (I'm 40 and am going to wait and do it with my daughter in 3 years!). You won't find any help on the college boards, trust me, I've tried. Just google the program and you'll find some more info. As far as the interviews go, they aren't that long so I've heard, and it's more to do with Disney questions than Canada. I know on the phone interview she asked me what Canadian traditions are there that other countries don't have. I also just googled Canadian traditions and culture to have some answers in mind. You'll do fine - just smile and be excited about all things Disney!
Which interview are you going to? I'm disappointed I'm not going this time, but looking forward to doing it some day!!! I know my daughter is excited, but she's only 14.5, so has to wait until after high school.

My daughter is going to the face to face interviiews in Toronto this month, is this what you are participating in or do you mean the phone interview?

She did the ICP a couple of years back ..I can't recall her saying they asked her anything 'Canadian' in particular on the phone interview?

I was a cultural rep in 1990. Many moons ago. The biggest thing they look for is personality and that you are clean cut. Disney wants people that will be friendly with their guests and ones that fit the Disney image.

As the for the Canadian questions, there maybe some but they should be general questions that all Canadians should know. Once you are down there, guest will ask stupid questions like does it really snow all year round and do we live in igloos. I never had a question about Canada that I could not answer.

Good luck. Being a rep was the time of my life and it looks really good on a resume!

I asked my DD..she said they will ask you questions about Canada that any guest could potentially ask. No trick questions..just trying to get an idea of how you might tell folks about where you are from! Nothing scary..like when I went and did my Canadian Citizenship but that's another story LOL..

Good Luck!:thumbsup2

Im going to the face to face interview in Toronto. A friend of mine took part in the program two years ago and LOVED it. I asked her and all she said was know things about Canada, so thats why I was a little nervous, because I didn;t know exactly what to go over.

You will do fine!! My DD is going this month, when are you going?

Again, good luck!;)

Good luck you guys. I applied for ICP, but I dont think I'm gonna get it because there's a buzz that said SAIT's Travel and Tourism program wasn't good enough.

I am not sure what the 'Sait's' program is, but there are no pre-requirements for ICP that I am aware of? I imagine having done something/anything with the public at some point might be a plus, but even then, not necessary for application. You never know!!!!!!:thumbsup2
