Hi everyone,

I'm brand spankin' new here and have some questions about our upcoming trip - late August when we will be staying @ POR. Specifically, I'm wondering if there are Cast Members here who can answer questions for a fellow CM. ::MickeyMo

I work in Burbank at the DVD audio facility (I'm the guy who finds the various sources and co-ordinates the sound getting onto the disc) and I'm finding it difficult to get important info about CM discounts @ WDW, park entry, etc. through the Company portal. It's all a little sketchy there - probably because it's a very tiny part of the population that falls into this category.

Is there another California CM who travels to WDW regularly (or a WDW CM) that can advise:

1) Whether or not myself & DW (and she truly IS a DW - I proposed at World Showcase during Illuminations and we had a Fairy Tale Wedding at the Disneyland Hotel - long before I became a CM) can take advantage of Morning Extra Magic Hours (we are staying at POR so I ASSUME we can . . . but . . . I dunno? Does being a CM exclude us ?)

2) I've heard there are some CM entrances at WDW (I'm pretty sure I've read MK has one) - which parks have them? Are they for all CMs or only for WDW CMs? And where are they in relation to the Guest entrances at each park?

3) If we're staying at a Resort Hotel and I want to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours - do I use the CM entrance? Are those only open during regular Park hours?

I've only been to WDW twice (in the last 7 years - and both visits BEFORE I was a CM) but I've always been a planning NUT and I did a fairly good job of Resort exploring etc. in the limited time I had on the first 2 visits.

Now that I work (very proudly I must say) to keep Walt's legacy intact and the Company at the forefront of entertainment, trip planning seems a bit more difficult than it was before - I have all these new things to consider.

So far I've arranged priority seating for (I guess the name was recently changed to "Advance Reservations" - or something like that) Ohana and today I'll be attempting to secure Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, California Grill, 50's Prime Time Café, Sci-Fi Dine-In, Le Cellier, Rose & Crown and a reservation @ Boma

We're going to take the Segway tour @ Epcot / World Showcase one morning, spend one day biking @ Fort Wilderness, boating (from same), going back to the POR pool then hotel hopping during the evening and the rest of our time will be spent in the Parks.

Any information will be SO helpful in helping us plan our 1st trip back TOGETHER since our engagement. And I'm certain I'll come up with more CM related questions.

Sorry the post was so long - I ramble a bit - and type fast (a dangerous combination).

Thanks in advance! :teeth:

If you are a Disney CM you may want to look into gaining access to the CM board here on the DIS. You'll find lots of useful information for Cast Members there. Including discounts and such.

Useful information already! I didn't know there was a CM board here!

How does one go about gaining access?

I'll poke around and see what I can find.

Thanks kilee! ::MickeyMo
