questions after a long time since last visit

hello; i'm not knowledgable with short-hand etc, but here goes...my wife,daughter (18, it will be her grad present), and i are going 11/25/07 - 12/1/07, i booked a room only at the port orleans french quarter for 6 nights and plan on buying tickets (7 days, no park hopper) seperately. last time we went (2001) buying room and tickets seperately was cheaper than a package. i haven't researched everything yet, but what do others think? and is this a good time to visit? lower crowds, christmas decorations, right? should we go to the mickey christmas party? any and all suggestions and insight wanted. its been a while since we visited and i want the trip to be the best...no really!!

This is a GREAT time to go! usually room only works out to be cheaper unless there is some type of promo going on.

you will have a blast and definately do MVMCP if you get a chance!!!
