I'm sure this has been posted before, but I can't get the search to work. I did read the blog, but still have a question. I bought tickets for the Wishes Dessert Party in October, unfortunately I bought them from a CM with no knowledge of the event, but I know ya'll will be able to help me:thumbsup2

She first asked me what time I wanted to be seated. . . I guess I thought there was only one seating, but I asked for 7:30 since Spectro is at 8--Wishes at 9. She said she had 8:10 available, I said fine, and bought the tickets. Then when she gave me my confirmation # she said to remember that the party starts 1 hour before Wishes. So, the party starts at 8 p.m. and I have tickets for 8:10 I guess. On a Spectro night, do they start the party any earlier, or are people are being seated during Spectro? They expect each table full to stay the entire party, right? I'm not expected to eat dessert and then get up so that someone else with an 8:45 ressie can have my table, right?:confused3

OK. . . I kinda rambled, :rolleyes1 but those that have been on a Spectro night please tell me how this worked for you.;)

And because I am DYING to tell, this is a surprise gift for my parents who are going with us. I'm terrible at waiting for surprises, so hopefully telling the DIS will help get it off my chest:rotfl:

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

I know the feeling! I'm also surprising my parents with it. :) Hoping you can keep the secret. :)

They stagger the seatings, so it's not a stampede to the desserts. Plus you can linger after the fireworks have finished. I think I have a time for my next one at 8:45. I anticipate lingering!!

If the CM was clueless, like another poster said, please check it's not a MNSSHP night, as you will need a ticket for that event. They are still doing the dessert party on MNSSHP nights.

1) I would not worry too much about Spectro.
2) The view of the parades is poor from that location.
3) Due to crowds, you only have a good view of the tops of floats.
4) For the fireworks, most will get up and walk to the railing/wall.
5) There are only a few tables that have a view (the ceiling is in the way).

Thanks all! I made sure it is not a MNSSHP night, but it is a Spectro night.

The staggered seating makes sense. . . if everyone got there right as the party started, it would probably be chaos.

We are also going to MNSSHP one night, we went last year, that parade was just the BEST! I watch it on video all the time. I am looking forward to the dessert party as well, this seems like a great addition to a Disney vacation!

Anyone know if you can reduce the number of guests? I have paid for 7 adults, but one had to cancel. I now need to make it for 6 adults. Will they reduce the number by 1 adult and refund me or will they have to cancel and rebook?

Thanks!

Here is a link to my review of the party with regard to Spectro:

A far as staggering the seating, they seemed to check everyone in at the same time, and let everyone in the same time. Since were were out watching Spectro during the "dessert rope drope" perhaps it was good that we missed any such chaos. People were pretty much at their tables by the time we got there- but desserts were still dissappearing fast.

You can kind of see Spectro from the party, but you definitely don't get the full effect. You basically are being seated during spectro.

You definitely have the table for the rest of the party.

The desserts were yummy!
