A few weeks ago (before I found the DIS boards) there is no way anyone could convince me to go to see fireworks at MK. I thought they were nothing more that the 4th of July fireworks I'm used to seeing back home, and although I like fireworks, I didn't think it was worth fighting the crowds in WDW to see them. After reading this board and finding out that Wishes is so much more than just plain old fireworks and is truly fantastic, now I can't wait to see them with my husband on our trip in September!!

I've made note of a few prime viewing areas you all have mentioned, but I have been seeing more and more people mentioning that their absolute favorite location to watch from is the Wishes cruise. I've been slowly warming up to the idea. (My hesitation has been not wanting to pay more $$ than I have already paid for this trip, but you all say it's so great, so I feel like I've got to try it!) Eventually I might post that my husband and I might like to share a cruise if anyone is interested (it would be sometime between Sept.7-10), but first I have a few questions:

1. Does the narrative/music that everyone says is so important to the viewing of Wishes get broadcast directly onto to the Wishes cruise? If not, is it possible to hear the narrative happening in the MK from the cruise or is it too far away?

2. Are the graphics/effects that are displayed directly onto the castle clearly visible from the cruise? What about Tinkerbell?

3. Does the cruise have a centered view of the castle? I've seen a few people mention that in their opinion it is best to be centered in front of the castle so all the effects appear symmetrical.

4. If the answers to the above questions happen to be that you can't hear the narrative/music and you are too far away to see the castle graphics and/or Tinkerbell, then what is it about this cruise that is so compelling to some people? Is it a better overall view, or maybe the fact that you are away from the crowds and have some privacy? I have been very excited to see the wonderful details of Wishes (castle graphics, Tinkerbell and in-your-face fireworks) and I just want to find out if you lose any of that if you take this cruise.

Thank you for any input you may have, and if there is a chance you might want to share a cruise with me and my husband (29 and 32 respectively but much younger at heart and ready to have an awesome time with Mickey!) on either 9/7, 9/8 9/9 or 9/10 please let me know!

I was told that the music was piped onto the boat. But really, that's all I know.

We just did the Wishes cruise last week and the music is not piped into the boats but you can hear it, but it is a little faint. They are working on piping the music in/broadcasting it in the boats, so that might be the case when you get there.

I loved it-it was a surprise from my husband and the end to a perfect magical day!

Since you are going in September, which should have low crowds, I would not spend the money on the cruise. I think Wishes is worth battling the park crowds for. We went to see it on a Sat. night in December, and went back just for that, knowing full well it would be a mad house. It was amazing, and worth every minute we spent in the park waiting for it. We got fast passes for Big Thunder before Wishes, and then swam upstream through the crowds when it was over, to ride it. It turned out to be one of our favorite evenings from the trip. I do agree, it's best to view it with the castle in the center and you will want to hear all the music and narration.
