Questions about Wilderness Lodge stay?

We are planning on staying at the Wilderness Villas for the first time from June 25-July 5. This will be our first DVC trip with our new son. Do you think I will have alot of trouble booking at the 7 month mark. Thanks for the info.

You never know til you try. I would suspect July 4th would be a busy time.

I would go with my home resort during that time period. It is one of the popular times of the year. You can get your home resort now of course.

Also being relatively new to this DVC thing, I always make reservations at our home resort at 11 months out and then call to check availability of where we really want to stay at the 7 month window. Both times we were able to get reservations where we wanted and only had to change plans by a single day one time. Then we just canx the home resort reservation. Even planned an unexpected trip at VWL just a couple of months out with no problems. But we never go during peak seasons, we usually go labor day. July 4th will be busy.

There is one problem with that..... We are trying to stay in Disney World and our home resort is HH.

Since you are a member of HH and not a DVC at WDW I would suggest you take anything they may have at any of the DVC resorts 7 months out. I would also suggest that you try to be flexible when it comes to the time to go. Maybe the next week in July would be better??Also you might want to be flexible on the size unit you get if that is possible. You also can ask they put you on the waiting list for the week you want. HH and VB are not the best DVC places to get a WDW reservation from during the busy times, but I wish you luck.

I would make the same suggestion as pa@okw95. I would take anything offered. At least you will be on property and then wait list the preferred location. The suggestion about date flexibility is a good one, also. I wish you luck.

We've never had a problem booking at the 7 month window. We've gone in the summer months and April using our points and have never had a problem. We've booked at BCV, VWL, BWV, and OKW at the 7 month and shorter time frame. We haven't tried July 4th yet but I'm sure you'll be able to get something if you can be flexible about where you stay.
