Hopefully some of you ladies can help me out here.

How early can we start planning? We've been planning on our VR for our 10th for 2 yrs now, and it's still 2 yrs away!!:rotfl: When can i start making arrangements with Disney?

The Escape packages start at $4000, but i saw somewhere there is a minimum $10K? Does that $10K include the hotel and park passes too? If the ceremony is onlk 4k, how am i supposed to come up with an extra 6K in "add-on's", espically if it's going to be a very small ceremonly, probably less than 10 people? We won't be needing a reception or anything like that.

Do you have to go down to Disney to plan this? We are taking a trip in April of this year to "test the weather" :cool1: around our planned renewal, but i doubt they will do anything with us this early.

Thanks!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer! :welcome: to the board!!

Technically you can contact Disney at the 1 year mark. Depending on the location you choose for your ceremony, you may be able to book your VR then or you might have to wait 'til you are 8 months out.

While the Escape packages start at $4000 now, there could be price increases over the next two years so definitely keep an eye on the disney weddings website.

The $10k minimum applies to Wishes weddings. For that type you choose things more "a la carte" where the Escape weddings are a package deal.

If you are expecting less than 10 people, the Escape is probably what you are going to want. Although, to be honest, making up that $6k probably isn't as hard as you might think!!;) If you decide to add the Cinderella Carriage, the Magic Kingdom photo shoot, and some other "extras" you might consider upgrading to a Wishes and include a full reception of some kind for you and your guests.

On the other hand, it is completely possible to do an Escape package for around $6000 (including almost everything).

You do not have to go to Disney to make all the arrangements and plans. In fact, many brides deal with Disney only via email and phone and are able to completely plan their wedding, especially if you have the Escape package.

Since you are going this April, definitely check out the ceremony locations and it can't hurt to call Disney and ask if you can talk to someone while you are there. The worse they can say is "no", right??;)

I hope that helps some!

Feel free to ask any other questions you have!

Thanks!! That helps a lot! I've been playing around on the planning site and using my wishbook, and even picking most every option available i still wasn't making it to $10K :scared1: so i'm glad to hear that the is just for the Wishes program. The Escape will be just fine for Dh, me and the kids. Possibly parents, but I doubt it.
