:wave2: Hello! I am a new member to the dis boards, but have been reading for quite some time. I'm very excited to be here!

I am leaving to Walt Disney World on Saturday (24th - leaving Oct 1st) for my first trip "Home" and I need some information on VMK in the park. Here are some questions:

- You can only do one of each quest per ticket. Is this correct?

- Can you only make one VMK character at the park per ticket? I wanted to make more so that my brother could have one.

- When purchasing pins, do you get a pin code for each pin you buy? (Same with Hats, Candy, etc.)

- Is Magic Kingdom the only place in WDW with VMK stuff?

- My Husband has a laptop we might bring with. What is the charge to use internet in the rooms (We are staying at Saratoga Springs)? Is there a Business Room that we can hook up at for cheaper than in rooms?

- Are you able to play VMK in the park at their computers? How difficult is it to get on? (I at least would like to get my NPC points per day)

- I am attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (Yay!) on September 30th. Will VMK Central be open then? Does anyone know if there will be any special Halloween VMK items?

I think that's it for now. Thank you so much in advance for your help.

That is correct

- Can you only make one VMK character at the park per ticket? I wanted to make more so that my brother could have one.

You should be able to make in one--you don't have to show your ticket for that.

- When purchasing pins, do you get a pin code for each pin you buy? (Same with Hats, Candy, etc.)

I believe it's one per purchase, so you may them in seperate purchases to get more than one.

- Is Magic Kingdom the only place in WDW with VMK stuff?

Yes

- My Husband has a laptop we might bring with. What is the charge to use internet in the rooms (We are staying at Saratoga Springs)? Is there a Business Room that we can hook up at for cheaper than in rooms?

It's around $11 per day.

- Are you able to play VMK in the park at their computers? How difficult is it to get on? (I at least would like to get my NPC points per day)

You can, but there is only about a half dozen computers. I never had to wait more than a few minutes for one, but I wouldn't tie one up for too long. That's just me.

- I am attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (Yay!) on September 30th. Will VMK Central be open then? Does anyone know if there will be any special Halloween VMK items?

Can't help you on this one.

- You can only do one of each quest per ticket. Is this correct?

Yes, but if you are traveling with others in your party, they can do the quest too.

- Can you only make one VMK character at the park per ticket? I wanted to make more so that my brother could have one.

You can make as many characters as you like. However, if they are for adults, you can only have 1 adult per email addy. So if multiple adults, you'll need multiple addresses. My son created 2 characters under my e-mail addy. He did one at home, then 1 at the park, with no problem. However, it would not let both me and my husband make a character at the same e-mail address.

- When purchasing pins, do you get a pin code for each pin you buy? (Same with Hats, Candy, etc.)

It depends on the CM. Ask before you make your purchase. Ask if you need to pay separately to get the number of cards you need. I've had CM's go either way.

- Is Magic Kingdom the only place in WDW with VMK stuff?

Yes.

- Are you able to play VMK in the park at their computers? How difficult is it to get on? (I at least would like to get my NPC points per day) Yes, you can play at the park. Sometimes when we've been there, the computers were all in use. Other times it's been empty. Once my son stood around for a half an hour waiting for use of a computer, because each person on the computers was hogging it. When I use the computer there, I get my credits, pop in and say hi to my friends real quick and leave. My son insists he has to stand there and type in any codes he gets that day. Then he wants to trade his stuff away. I've limited him to 1 trade, to be polite to other people waiting.

- I am attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (Yay!) on September 30th. Will VMK Central be open then? Does anyone know if there will be any special Halloween VMK items? VMK central should be open during MNSSHP. It was open during evening EMH when we were there. I have not heard of any special items, but you never know. I'd go check.

Thank you for the responses.

I am hoping that VMK Central is open during the Halloween Party. Since it is a different ticket I will be using, I would think that I would be able to redo the Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Adventureland quests during that time. What do you think? (Sorry if I sound greedy ;) )

Yeah, I don't plan on staying on the computers in the park for a lengthly amount of time. I just want to get a new person and get my NPC credits. That should not take long.

Since I have my own website I have 500 email addresses available to me. So I will be cool with that. Thanks for reminding me.

Thanks Again!

Actually, it's based on your admission ticket and if I recall correctly, the halloween ticket is NOT an admission ticket. It merely gets you the wrist band to wear while you're in the park during the party. You will already have used your admission ticket that day (or that trip) so you probably won't be able to do it again.

I have an actual seperate ticket for the Halloween Party that looks almost exactly the same as my regular ticket. I wouldn't use my regular ticket to get in, unless I was already in. Whether you are already inside or are walking in with the Halloween Pass, you have to get a wristband. It has a swipe thing, so I think it would count as a ticket. We'll see.

This thread covered some of the things I an thinking about. I am going October 4-12.

I have my printout for the Quest Tour and first day I am going to make my arrangements.

I have my tomorrowland quest printed out.

I will do all quests and take the tour. I am working on getting printouts for the room and Nemo chair codes.

I would love any info you have on the trivia I have been making notes but the more info I have the better!

For purchases:
Hats for Christmas gifts to get gold ears
Candy for my DD class gifts to get the Red Penny Presses
Picture from Splash Mountain for Wanter Poster (I actually want to but this I scrapbook and I am doing a book on cheezy ride photos)

That is is for special purchases at WDW isn't it?

Is the gold stuff only at Disneyland?

I am going to be in WDW over the Columbus Weekend and I am hearing that is when they are going to do an event. I am going to have mules all set up so I can hopefully buy what I need. I do not want to spend a lot of time on the computer in my room I am going to be at Disney after all. I have decided to drive so I can bring my laptop but I really hope I am not in the room long enough to use it much.

I do plan on making as many in park characters as I can to get the ears and then for some friends and other people that want the park badge. I am hoping to get able to get some time just before the park closes or during the parade to do this. How does this happen. Is it a code you get after you make it or something that pops up like the automatic credits and clothing?

Ok what else do I need to know to be prepared for this. I am an Uber Disney planner. My lists have lists so I don't want to leave any aspect of VMK out. with 9 days there I should have plenty of time to do what I want to. We spend most of our time in the MK.

You all should see my VMK notebook!

Actually, the "hard ticket" events tickets will get you admission into the
park when you arrive for the party. (I've used my MVMCP ticket through
the turnstiles, so I can basically assume the MNSSHP tickets will also work
the same way.)

Apparently you should be able to use the hard ticket as entry around 4pm.
If you're already in the park when they herd the party goers while they
clear out the rest of the park, they'll give you a wristband.

Anyone entering the party *after* the official starting time will use the
turnstiles.

Ok, I'll shut up now. :)

--I would love any info you have on the trivia I have been making notes but the more info I have the better!

Be sure to know the names of each of the trains on Big Thunder Mt. Our guide made us distinguish them exactly. For example some start out as I.M or I.B etc.

You can also buy something at Sir Mickey's and get a virtual t-shirt. (However is the white shirt with red cicle and mickey face inside. and is also a choice when you create a character.)

Also, can buy a picture at Buzz Lightyear and get a wanted poster

Oh yeah, and if you buy a real pin at the Frontierland pin store, then you get a virtual poster.

--Is the gold stuff only at Disneyland?

No, it's at both.

I created my 1st in park character as a mule last weekend. I got 4 rooms, some shirts, the black mickey ears (this was not a choice it was just given and was told via email--no codes), and 200 credits.

Relax and have fun!

Lol. You're not the only one.

Four rooms! I didn't know that! How cool. My Main Mule is going to be changed to a made in park person. I am going to blow out all the credits on Blue dresses and start again with that person I make in the park. I also might change my main character if I can get a name very similar to the one I am using now. I want that made in the park badge!

you actually get 5 rooms the four available rooms and you pick a room so pick your favorite because you will have two of that one.

Be sure to know the names of each of the trains on Big Thunder Mt. Our guide made us distinguish them exactly. For example some start out as I.M or I.B etc.

The names of the six trains are: U.B. Bold, U.R. Daring, U.R. Courageous, I.M. Brave, I.B. Hearty and I.M. Featless.

the gold collection is part of the tour at both DLR and WDW
are you sure I thought the gold collection was only at DL :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Good Info Tink adding that to the Guide!

But Lisa you will lose you DAy1 badge......

Also I think each ticket holder can book a VMK Tour with a Voucher...someone reported this to be the case.

So if you have four vouchers and four ticket holders each ticket holder can book a tour and bring up to 3 other people. For a total of four.

Let me know if this is not correct.

Thank you so much!!!

I'm very excited to hear that you get 5 rooms, that is so cool. I also read on the Player's Guide that you get a Penny Press when you make a person in the park. Is this still true?

I hope it's true that you can book a tour for each ticket holder. That means when my husband and I go we will be able to go on the tour twice. Yay!

So - then is it decided that if VMK Central is open during the Halloween Party that it is a seperate ticket and we will be able to do the quests again?

Also, I am really wanted to get the Pink Nemo Chair, Tent Room and Thunder Mountain Teleporters. How do you get these? Tell me every way I can. Oh, and what cards/codes are you guarenteed to get when you go on the Tour?

Thanks Again!

I did get 5 rooms, maltoo! (Yippee, I didn't realize I did!)

Did not get penny press when made new character.

I did not get any of these. My son got the Thunder Mt teleporters by naming all the trains.

Here's what we got on our tour at WDW in August:

Card 1 of 30 Disneyland Golden Show Designer Collection

24 of 30 Haunted Mansion rocking Chair----ended up being a Donald rocking chair

6 of 30 HM Conservatory Guest Room

4 of 30 HM Ghostly Organ

13 of 30 Master Gracey's Grandfather Clock

28 of 30 HM graveyard tree

2 of 30 Madame Leota's Crystal Ball Collection

6 or 6 Disneyland Retro Penny Presser

That's all I got. As I said my son won the teleporters.

BriarRosie,

It may have changed to this. I know that in the recent past (2 years ago) you needed *both* an admission ticket and the hard ticket for the event.

As far as whether you'll be able to do both, the only ones who know is WDW and they'll tell you if you can/can't when you try.
