Questions about Valet Parking

The only places that we have ever valet parked were at restaurants, so I have no idea how this works for several days. We will be staying at AKL for four days and I had planned to use the valet. Once we get there we do not plan to move the car until we leave, so I thought that valet parking would be a total of $6. Is it $6 a day even if it just sits there for the whole four days? Please someone explain how the valet parking service works? If we do not use this service what happens then? Do they use the golf carts like I have read about at the GF?

The valet parking is $6 per day, even if you dont use your car for the day. The $6 includes valet parking at any WDW resort hotel that offers valet (ie the deluxe's). So, if you want to take your car out and drive to the Boardwalk for example you can valet there for the same $6. They identify this by a card they hang in your car which is a different color each day, and also stamped with the date.

The only extra it does cost if for the tips you give the valet. If you dont valet park at the AKL you can self park and walk to the lodge. There are not golf carts like the GF because the lodge is all in one building. Its not that far of a walk from the self parking lot to the lobby.
