Questions about Upgrading tickets!!

I have a couple of questions about upgrading my tickets to annual passes.

I am staying at the Polynesian and have 7 day park hoppers (we arrive April 30th). I have decided to upgrade to annual passes. I know that I have to do this at the park, but how do they do this if my tickets are on my room key?

I am also wondering if as another option, would I be able to call now and upgrade over the phone (and pay now)?
