I sure hope this is the right place to post...sorry if it is not, but you looked like the group that might be able to help. Heres my case:

*I've been losing weight, as I do I have this flab of skin hanging over my lower stomach (bikini area?). I could suck in in as fat, but not now.

*I've had a lot of stomach surgeries due to a wound that got cellulitus, laproscopic and hernia repair (thanks to the wound) My stomach is a mess.

*Ok, so I don't have great tummy musles and need to be careful as the last surgery for hernia repair was 5 months ago (I was told to give the webbing a good year to be firmly established, but light exercise is ok).

*It's gross, it gets all sweaty and makes me look even fatter.

******How do I get rid of short of a tummy tuck?********

And long as I'm here how do you get a butt? I have lots of extra fat everywhere but there?

Thanks...and if this is the wrong place to post, can someone direct me??

Honey, I've had 2 c-sections and mine is shot, too!!! I have tried everything, so I will be checking this thread to see what advice everyone else has!! You really, REALLY have my sympathy, because I know EXACTLY how you feel!!

Wellll, I am thinking you can check with the doc you are seeing for some input. Perhaps the surgery has some sort of connection to your current situation.

Then the other thing you need to know is unfortunate and I guess I will be the bearer of the bad news. You cannot "spot" reduce or add. Your genetic make up will determine where you first to last lose or gain.

If you are at a very lean self, muscle tone will help, but you need to be sure not to injure yourself as you are healing.

Having c-secs here too I can say that my tummy is not the best place of flat. However, I know that is not my real answer. My family genetics have me gaining in exactly that area first and losing there absolutely last--if ever. I am becoming more toned and stronger by doing Pilates exercise yet because I carry extra weight, that is where it shows.

Same thing for adding on the posterior. Do exercises that will tone up that area. Stairclimbers are a great source of muscle development there. Again, you can only do what your body has.

Do your best to begin light toning as maybe by physical therapy recommendations and give yourself time to heal. Don't give up and hopefully that extra-ness will shrink up some.

Don't give up!

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think there's a thing you can do as far as exercise goes...the skin will hang, and not much you can do...i myself have looked into a tummy tuck, when i get all this weight off, i'm getting one..they're only around $4000 which is a lot of money, but to get rid of the hanging skin...I'LL DO IT! :)

Not sure how much excess skin you have---but Marilu Henner swore by body brushing. She hasn't had any cosmetic surgery and was pretty plump in her earlier days. She's fitter than when she was on Taxi.

It isn't guaranteed of course--but if you get a hold of a natural bristle body brush...your proceed to brush your body. It can be unpleasant at first. It exfoliates the skin and does something to it. Overtime you will see a difference. But genetics will determine how much. It supposedly helps (not gets rid of) with cellulite as well to improve the appearance.

Body Brushing to Reduce Cellulite
Body brushing helps our lymphatic drainage system to remove toxins from the body. In so doing, it helps to reduce cellulite in our thighs and butt, where fats, proteins and waste products tend to accumulate.

Body brushing is not a miracle cure for cellulite, but it does help, especially if you improve your dietary habits. Five minutes dry body brushing before your bath or shower helps cellulite by getting fluid moving and boosting blood flow.

Use a natural bristle brush and take long strokes. Start at your feet, brushing up your legs and thighs towards the groin. Work in circular movements over the tummy, then do hands and arms, back and across the shoulders.Use gentle downward strokes on your neck, throat and chest.

Your skin may redden and start tingling as the body-brushing increases the circulation in areas of greatest fat-concentration.

I can't find anything on the tummy--just recall that Marilu mentioned it in one of her books that it helped her--and she does have children (though I'm not sure what delivery she did).

I bought my body brush at Wild Oats--you can get it at any Natural foods/health store such as Whole Foods.

They are pricey for a brush--but worth the money.

I did notice a difference when I used it--had some rippling in the skin in my lower abdomen that got smoothed a little bit (still a couple of dimples).

I need to get back at it. :)

Be sure to follow instructions--usually included with the brush purchase. I belive you start at your feet--and work you way up your body..towards your heart---brushing in circles.
