Questions about the add-on plans

Thanks for the link, this spreadsheet is great.:bounce:

Has anyone verified the accuracy of the meal calculator spreadsheet??

I just tried out the meal calculator from the link that was given and I found at least one inaccuracy when I went to put in the meals from my first day. The hoop dee doo price the calculator gave me for two adults was 61.88 - that can't be correct since I know it now costs about 50 per person. I can't be sure of the other restaurants b/c I haven't eaten at any of them lately. I did notice on the download page that the year was 2001. I wouldn't rely on these calculations since they seem to be out of date. I just did another calculation - lunch at 50's prime time cafe, it said it would be under 40, including tip I think for 2 if you went all out. I know that it cost more than that for 2 when I went several years ago if you order app, entree, dessert and drink (and that drink can be a milkshake when we went). It might be better to just look at the actual menus at www.wdwig.com and select where you would eat and what you get and add up the prices that way to get an idea.

Vbfamily, I just checked the offical Walt Disney World website and found the following:

- - - - - - -
The per person prices for the package and same add-on plan must be paid for every person in the room.
- - - - - - -

That has been my experience in the past with the Disney packages -- every person in my party had to be on the same package plan. (That included the time when I had seven people staying in my suite.)

I know it won't be 100% accurate but at least you can get a ball park figure. Also, there is a pull down menu bar on the meal detail that lets you choose if it is going to be a light meal, normal or "the works". It's calculated differently depending on which you choose.

I just called the Disney Club and was told by 2 different operators that the Silver Upgrade had to be for every person in our party. For us it is my husband, two children and myself. I'd love to have the plan for only my husband and I, but it seems impossible.

When I called WDTC the other day they said that the adults could be on the plan but the children did not have to be. I wonder why they are telling different people different things.

Yea, the gentlmen who did this has not sent me a update since I got this one so the prices would be off. And, yes, Deb's site has the most updated menus on the Internet.

Still, glad the Toolbox is handy for you follks!

wdwfan - there was a woman who posted a few weeks ago about staying at the poly with the silver or gold plan who had done the package without her child/children. You may want to search for that post (on the resorts board I think) and then contact her about it. I have also heard that people don't include their children when calling to make reservations for the plan (I guess just don't tell them you have kids coming) and then when they get to the resort add them to the room and pay for admission passes.

Oh I just ran a search and found the woman's name. It is mum2monsters and it was posted on the trip reports board back in early Feb. You might want to drop her a line.

honeymo-78 Thanks for the info! I will look up the thread. :D
