Questions about staying on site

My neighbors won a trip to Disneyland. They have 2 nights at one of the on site hotels and a 3 day non park hopper. I am helping them plan their trip, but I have never stayed on site, so I'm not quite sure how this works. They are planning on going a Tuesday-Thursday in July. Can they check in at their hotel at say 6 a.m. Tuesday morning and be able to do early entry at 7? And then on check out day, Thursday, are they still allowed to use early entry? It mentioned something about needing to be registered, so I wasn't sure what happened if you checked out early in the morning.

Yes, they can check in about 6am and the hotel will store the luggage until the room is ready. Their hotel key will have their dates and they can use early entry on both the first and last day if offered.

If they can, they should add a night to the package as they usually are 50% off rack rates to add to a winning trip package.

Since the Grand is the most expensive one, they may want to pick that one as their first choice.

First of all, JEALOUS of your friends! I hope they have a wonderful time!

Although I've never tried it, several nice folks on this board have reported checking in to an onsite Disneyland hotel super early and making it for early entry. So hopefully that will work.

Yep, early entry on check-in morning & check-out day. The room doesn't have to be ready until 3pm, so if they have anything they want during the day they will need to carry it on their persons. Luggage can be left with the bellhops before their room is ready & after they check out while they enjoy the parks.

Thanks for all your help! Yes, I had them request Grand as their first choice, but it sounds like it's not a guarantee. They should hear back in a week for which week they got and which hotel. I didn't know about the 50 percent off thing, I will talk to them about that. That's great info!
