Questions about staying off site

Dh and I stayed offsite a few weeks ago for a very short trip. It wasn't too difficult, but I am wondering how it would be with our three kids 8, 5, &2.

Are you able to return to your rooms mid-day and then go back to the park or is it a logistical nightmare? Anything else I need to consider?

We have done both. Unless you are staying at a monorail resort, you can get to offsite faster and more comfortable depending how far offsite you are. Remember that you only pay parking once per day.

Will you have your own car? If so, taking breaks will be no problem. If not, it will be difficult because offsite shuttle services are not as frequent as onsite.

Yes, we will have a car. Having to deal with a shuttle schedule would make me crazy - they don't go early enough.

staying at the sheraton vistana resort, i timed the trip from the epcot parking lot to my parking space in front of my building at the resort at 8 minutes.

it can be done...just depends on what park and how far away your resort is...
