Questions about some attractions

Hi, it's Alexandra again, quickly becoming a regular on this board! I'm planning my itinerary at the parks for my trip next month, and I have some questions that I would LOVE your feedback on:

1. I'm spending Saturday, June 17th at Magic Kingdom. We're definitely planning to see the SpectroMagic Parade. Should we also plan to see the Share a Dream Come True Parade, or should we skip that and use that time to do rides and shop?

2. I'm considering whether or not to ride Test Track. I loooove fast, exciting rides, but I am TERRIFIED of "drops" and I absolutely can't handle them. Even the Pirates of the Carribean drop at Disneyland is too much for me, and the drop in Indiana Jones at Disneyland is the reason I stopped going on that ride. So my question is, does Test Track have a drop? Or is it just fast and exciting?

3. On that note, because of my fear of thrill rides, should we bother going to the water parks? I'm really torn about this because I absolutely LOVE water sports like tubing and jet-skiing, and I once stayed at a hotel in Arizona that had fantastic water slides, which I loved. But it seems like most of the water slides at BB and TL are like roller-coasters in the water. Is that the case, or are there slides without drops that I'll enjoy?

Thanks so much for the advice, I really appreciate it!!

:wizard: Spectro and Share A Dream are totally different. One is at night, one during the day. If you are a parade lover, check them both out. They are both awesome. You can try one and if you like it, you are gonna like the other one.

2. I'm considering whether or not to ride Test Track. I loooove fast, exciting rides, but I am TERRIFIED of "drops" and I absolutely can't handle them. :thumbsup2 Test track has no drops. Maybe a few little dips, but absolutely nothing like Pirates. They put your car through test maneuvers like breaking, swerving, etc. The high speed run is EXCELLENT! Just so you don't think that I lied to you, the first thing you do is climb up a big incline, but you DON'T DROP!

3. On that note, because of my fear of thrill rides, should we bother going to the water parks? :confused3 Sorry, I don't go to the water parks!

Thanks so much for the advice, I really appreciate it!!

You are welcome! Have fun!

I'll give it a shot.

1. Spectromagic is a must see. SADCT parade is good. The floats are big snowglobes with characters inside. (DH and I did a behind the scenes tour and got to take an upclose look at them. The actors get hot in those globes!) I think you could safely miss it, espically since you are checking out another parade. Plan on flexibility, you may need to take a break and sittting to watch the parade would be a good time out. Or you may be able to ride that "one" ride without any problem. (That really wasn't much help was it. ;) )

2. Test track takes you thru safety drills for the first half. Extreme heat, cool, an extreme braking before you hit the "big rig"... I don't remember any drops, and if there is, they are not fast. The extreme speeds are in the second half where you burst outside and fly around the track. It is awesome. Don't miss it. (I don't like the big drop either. POTC drop is anxious for me to. I still do it, tho. Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, also are NOT extremem drop rides either. They chug up the hill scarily like a regular roller coaster and then come down gradual, off to the left or right. Nothing straight down. They are enjoyable too.)

3. Not sure about the water parks. I found the lazy rivers fun and the family tubing great after DH convinced me to get on. But I didn't do any slide races with him or daughter.

First of all: :welcome: This is a great site for all things Disney. :disrocks:
1. Yes, you should take in Share a Dream parade. It's a wonderful parade. You'll have plenty of time in between parades for riding rides and shopping. The parade only lasts 25 minutes so sit in a place that you can 'get away' quickly after.

2. Test Track does not have a drop that I remember. It's just a lot of stop and go. You go in hot and cold climates and a lot of sharp turns. You'll finish with a 65 mph track on the outside to check for the speed on the car. It's exciting. Go for it.

3. Wow, that's a good question. BB has slides of all kinds. There are those that are DROPS ONLY like Summitt Plummitt (sp). You definately DO NOT want that slide or you'll end up in the ER with a heart attack. So avoid that one, but as for the others, well, they are like water coasters. There are not really any big drops. They all just sort of gradually go down into the water after winding through some twists and turns. I think you'll be fine as long as you avoid the one I spoke of.

Hope this has been of help and enjoy your trip!

I'll bite, too. :)

1. Spectromagic is an absolute "must-see". I like Share a Dream Come True, but I don't think it's a must-see. I'd try to make time for it, but if you miss it, I wouldn't worry too much. Plus, SADTC is always during the hottest part of the day, so we usually miss it beacuse we're taking an afternoon break. :) If you see any afternoon parade, the Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade at the Animal Kingdom is the one to see.

2. No drops on Test Track. Parts of the attraction are thrilling, but never scary. There are very few people I wouldn't recommend this ride to. :) Like Evil Queen 12 said, go for it. :)

3. I'm not a big water park fan, but I have been to Typhoon Lagoon. Most of the slides there don't have big drops. BLizzard Beach has the "huge drop" slide, Summet Plummet, as well as other, more thrilling slides.

Have a great trip!

Not sure if I can be of any help, but I'll try!

Honestly, if it were me, I'd skip the afternoon parade, just because it's June, so it will be HOT, and probably crowded. The parade gives you a great opportunity to get in some rides with much shorter lines! If there are two performances of Spectro that night (which they sometimes do in busier seasons), the 2nd one is always less crowded. If you do skip the parade, keep in mind that it can be hard to get around in Frontierland and some other parts of the park while it is going on!

I don't remember any drops in Test Track, but I haven't ridden it much, so I'm not 100% certain there.

The water parks also have the lazy river area, wave pool, shark reef, etc. As long as the parks are already included in your tickets, you could always go check them out in person, and see which slides look fun, and which you'd rather avoid.

Hope that helped a little!
