Questions about Shipping to Resort

We have a big trip coming up in December, a 4-night cruise followed by 8 nights in WDW (split between BWV and VWL).

I am thinking of shipping some stuff (coffee, filters, dishwasher tabs, etc) to the resort ahead of our arrival rather than packing them in our luggage as on past trips (and trying to bring the coffee back through US Customs and Agricultural inspection).

Has anyone shipped stuff to themselves at a resort? How should I address and mark the carton?

Hi! I had an item I bought off a website shipped straight to POR with UPS 3 day ground service. I called the resort and they stated the would hold our package for up to 3-4 days after we check in which was 9/24. The resort also stated to address it this way:

Disney Port Orleans Riverside Resort
Attn: Your name (date of check-in (put date here) )
123 abc rd
Lake buena visita, fl 00000

They told me not to put my reservation number due to security reasons even though I have read others have without problems. Our package was delivered to the front desk where they held it for me for pickup without any problems on 9/25 .

I too have shipped a box to the BCV and also shipped back home with no problem..just need the correct address of the resort, with check in date and also gave my ressie number.

Shipping things back? What a great idea! How did you do that? Did you already have the box with prepaid postage?

I used the same box that I shipped down, then, took it to the desk, on the other (left) side of the doors..think its the consierge. They added the postage and on its way home it went!!

For our trip in May we shipped stuff to BCV (tubes for SAB, light up toys for the kids etc). It was so painless.

With the new airline restrictions, I might try shipping all of my toiletries down on our next trip, (other than the medical necessities) to lighten my carry-on load.

Just allow ample time for it to arrive. I sent it exactly a week prior to our arrival (from NJ). And you should insure it so if is lost you can get your replacement cost back.

Unless you have another use for the dishwasher tabs, you won't need them in the kitchen because they do provide dishwasher detergent for the dishwasher.

I seem to remember there not being enough dishwasher detergent and running out last time I was there. I was planning to send dishwasher tab and laundry detergent (along with the coffee and other stuff).

You just have to request more dishwasher detergent or dishwashing liquid if you need more. Now laundry detergent and fabric softener would be appropriate since they only provide one small box of Tide (single use) each time they clean.

Will you not have a car? If you do have a car, there is a very nice Publix on SR 192 not far from WDW where the prices are pretty reasonable.

Not sure if we'll have a car or not. I have a car reservation, but am not sure if we'll be using it or not.

Normally I would pack this sort of stuff, but with the cruise coming before the land portion, that sort of changes the picture.

Hey, we're on the same cruise! It's our first Disney cruise and it is also before our stay at BWV.

Is there a problem taking food items off the ship if they are unopened? I will have things with me on the cruise that I intend to use when we are at BWV.
I'm hoping that as long as the package is unopened, there won't be a problem bringing things on and off the ship?

You're on the December 10th 4-night? Great! Have you seen the thread for that sailing on the Cruise Meet-up board?

Regarding taking food off the ship, I'm really not sure. The only time I've ever passed through customs and agricultural inspection is coming back from Europe. Normally, it's just fresh fruit, vegetables and such that are a problem. I thought I'd just avoid any potential hassles and ship some stuff on ahead. Plus it reducing some of the schlepping factor.
