Questions about RPR reservation

When we made our online RPR reservation several months ago, it was using the older online reservation page, which at the time did not ask for the number of children. I notice now on the newer online reservation forms it askes for the number of children. When I checked our reservation online it has the number of children as 0. Should I call them about this? I don't want to get to the hotel and find we only have 1 bed in the room.

Also, when do they normally take the 1 nights deposit from your CC? We have still not had any payment taken from our CC and we booked several months ago.

If you reserved a 2 queen reservation, then that is what you should have. However, it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and add your children to the reservation just to make sure they don't move you to another room. Although, I would probably think that an overseas call would not be necessary. You can add your children and get their room keys at check-in.

Booking online, we have never had our cc charged for the deposit. Many here have also had the same experience. Booking over the phone, they sometimes charge your card. However, booking online, the majority of people here have never had their card charged.

Well I guess I must be one of the few, because I booked a room at the HRH last week on-line and my CC was charged . I tell you one thing though, the room tax & state tax fee is crazy

I think with the new reservation system, you get charged. With the old reservation system, the one the OP must have used since they booked months ago, you didn't get charged.

Thats correct! I learned that this week as well. All the years booking online never charged one night and this week I did as I always do and it was charged out. I did notice on the online booking form a new message in red that stated one nights stay would be charged to cc.

I agree with you, but it's worse in NYC! I just got the bill for paying for my parents to stay one night at the Westin Times Square ... room rate: $239+ Room tax 8.375% sales tax and usage + City Tax: 5% + Occupancy tax $2 + NYS Javits Center Tax (????) $1.50.

Who the heck charges an occupancy tax for a hotel on top of a usage tax? And what's up with the Javits Ctr tax? What is that?! Can you imagine Universal charging a tax on the Loews hotels? That is crazy!

That's too bad that they are now charging online reservations.

FWIW - I booked the Loews Santa Monica over the phone about a month ago and they have yet to charge my card for the deposit. Go figure.
Guess they aren't quite consistent with the deposit charges yet.
