Hello all!

I'm planning on renting points froma DVC member, but I still have a few questions:

Will the reservation be under my name?

How do I go about checking in?

Will I not have daily maid service since the reservation was made through DVC?

Please help!

The person you are renting from will have to call Member Services to put the ressie in your name. (this will probably be done after you have made your financial arrangements with the rentor) Have the rentor mail the confirmation with YOUR name on it after he/she receives it. To check in, take your confirmation with you. Remember - your name MUST be on the ressie. You are correct - no daily maid service when staying on DVC points. On the fourth day you will have Trash/Towel service, and on the seventh day, a full cleaning. Enjoy your stay!

What surprised me was when we rented, the cards that we were handed had us as a DVC member!!! So we were able to get the discounts as members??? Thought that was odd? We never used them but we did inquire at the desk and they said we were entitled?

Technically, non-paying guests of DVC members are given "DVC Member" priviledges and paying renters are not supposed to. However, DVC has no way of knowing if you paid the member or not, so usually they give everyone the "DVC Member" Resort ID.

I always figured that the Member priveleges go with the points rented or not...but I was wondering...if you are a member and you pay cash for a whole stay does it still say DVC Member on the card? I would guess it does not.

If you book through member services and get the 25% member discount, I think your card would say "DVC Member" and you get DVC member housekeeping rules. If you book through CRO, then it's not a member stay (and you get regular housekeeping).
