Questions about Poly in December

This is my first time posting here. These boards have great information! I will be taking my 3 yr old son on his first trip to WDW in early December. I am VERY excited!! I was thinking of staying at the Polynesian and have some questions. It seems that discount codes are only available through July 4 at this point. Do I go ahead and make my reservation now without any codes? If any codes come out, can I change my reservation to take advantage of them? Also, when making the reservation, can I specify what building, floor, or room I am interested in? Any other tips?

Discounts only come out about 2-3 months in advance. However, if you make a res now and a discount comes out that is applicable for your trip, you can certainly change it no problem. Also, as far as requests, you can make as many as you want with regards to building, floor, etc. I would recommend making only 3, that way the resort has a better chance of giving your requests. Make sure you request in a specific order of importance to you.
Ex: 1. nonsmoking 2. 3rd floor 3. tahiti building
