Questions about points rented for CSR

So I rented points to stay at CSR (very cheap because they were from a cancelled cruise that needed to be used ASAP). Anyway, just wanted to see if someone could ease my mind a bit. When I pull up the reservation on-line it says there is a balance. I asked the DVC member about it and she said she called and MS said that the points were applied to the reservation and that there is no balance. I have rented in the past but it was only for DVC resorts and the way they do things for Disney Collection is a bit different. So my question is...Is this what normally happens when you book outside of DVC...that it shows a balance until you check in???? TIA

That is probably just a timing issue between the resort and DVC. The resort likely reserves the room as a cash reservation and shows a balance due until DVC sends over the cash.

Couldl that be the $95 fee for trading out? I thought that was due at check in.

I've never used points for non-DVC resorts, but I have once for a cruise and we paid the $95 when we booked the cruise.

No, it's not the $95 fee. It shows that being paid and a balance of like $900
