Questions about pkg. dining option

How does the dining option work for the sit down meals? Can we order anything off the menu or are there restrictions? And what about the counter service too? If you order an alcoholic beverage do you get a bill reflecting only that amount? Would appreciate ANY words of advice on this package add-on.

The way I understand it, alcoholic beverages are not included, you'd get a bill for those separate from your meal. As far as what you can order, my understanding is that you can get anything from the menu.

Reports should hopefully start coming in from DISers who've used the dining package, I'm interested to see what the experiences are, we're planning a fall trip.

Ok, I decided that the fastest way to get my question answered was to call WDW dining directly. There are no menu restrictions. With the dining plan you get the same menu and you can order whatever you like.

is this for the old dining plans or for the new myw plan?

I meant the MYW dining plan, and I believe the OP did as well....

While Dining wasn't totally sure, they DID tell me that each restaurant has the right to limit your quantities or sizes (i.e. If a restaurant offers a 9oz & 12oz prime rib, you may only be able to get the 9oz with your package). Not a big deal, but it's something to consider.
