Hi everyone,
Hopefully this is the right board if not please move mods !

We are just staring discussions about the small possibilty of going to Florida late 2012 ( October ish)
Could do with a few questions answered please !

1, We dont drive, is it best to stay at Disney/idrive instead of the villa's at kissimmee ect.
We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children so most normal hotel rooms we cant fit into !
Any ideas on apartements/family rooms?

2, Looked on Virgin website for their deals at the moment and was shocked how much Disney is on there.
£6k for 2 weeks in Oct/Nov staying at a moderate hotel (inc park tickets / free meals)
Is this the sort of price we will expect to pay staying onsite and booknig through a travel agent?

3, Should you book in advance as early as possible to get the best deals?

Thanks for your help !

1) Staying at one of the many Disney Resorts will probably be your best bet, you get free transportation from the airport (Orlando only) to whatever Disney Hotel you're staying at.

& there's DVC villa's that can occupy 5 people, but they're not cheap - so looking into renting DVC points will probably be a good idea. Look on this website. http://www.dvcrequest.com :thumbsup2

2) Yes, i think that's pretty 'normal' but i'm not 100% sure as i've never booked a package. :)

3) Booking in advance is always the best thing, more availability & it's cheaper than if you book nearer the time.

Thanks for the quick replys, so whats the best way to get a good price?

We are a family of 5, going at the end of Oct 2012. Have a look at Old Key West 2 bed villas. Through Disney it costs approx £4300, including all meals and park tickets. Transfers are included. Flights would be needed on top of this price.

You're welcome. :)

I suppose it depends on your budget and how long you're going for.
You can get some really good package deals but i think what they offer within the package can be limited, but you never know. There's many Disney packages, so you'd have to work out what's the better option.

Renting DVC points of a DVC Member is a very good prospect, but you can only book upto 11 months in advance, so if you're planning to go in Oct 2012 you'd have to wait until Nov 2011 for the prices to come out.

You could though, have a look at this years prices by using a points calculator from the website i gave you in my first post, the guy you can rent DVC points off has his own thread here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2386546 you can save ALOT renting points. :thumbsup2

Flights are always expensive though, unfortunately. Unless you don't fly to Orlando but you'd need to be able to drive.

we never drive and always stay at Disney - it makes things very, very easy.

The price sounds good to be honest - we made the mistake of booking when the preview brochure was released and despite what we were told by the virgin sales member the prices changed when the full brochure was released - we would have saved £900 if we had waited a further three weeks. :( Plus you currently get the $300 spending money at WDW,

a villa is not really a good idea without a car as alot are not on the bus routes as such

disney is good as its got the free transportation and some really good deals at the moment
