questions about new free dining pin

I am doing a Grand Gathering for the week of August 15-22nd. Does this pin apply for this week. We are most certainly booked at paying full price at the Poly. How do you get these pins?

I read on another thread that this pin is for 8/16- 10/1- is this correct?
If so, nwhitehead, that means if you had it, it could count for all but one day of your trip.
I'm still waiting for something for Thanksgiving week- if it ever comes! Here's holding out hope....

Okay, I am frustrated. If I read correctly, it appears the free dining to the public would be only after 8-23.
If that is the case, I will not be able to go to Disney as I go back to school. However, if I get a pin for it starting in 8-16, I would be able to go and afford it. This really makes me bummed. I have never gotten a pin or code and am dying for one. I know someone who got one and won't even use it. This frustrates me.
Thanks for the info everyone. I am hoping and praying but not holding my breath as I am not lucky.

10 nights standard room at POP - 2 adults
2 adult - 9 day park hopper
Free dining for 2 adults

$1533.00 which includes insurance

Has anyone booked with the new free dining pin? Are the free tics/dining available for as many nights as you like? What kind of deal did you get? Did you get a better deal this way or with the 4/3 deal?

While the information that came with the free dining pin talks about tickets as part of the package, you are not getting them for free.

It is just that you can't use the free dining pin unless you book at MYW package and that includes tickets.

Thanks for clearing that up about the free tickets. It does seem a little misleading. That would be nice though!!!! I'm considering changing my trip. 4/3 at Poly in June or go in September with free dining. I'll drive myself crazy thinking about this. Time to make a pro/con list!!
