We were only able to get lunch (2:50 pm) at Le Cellier because of such short notice. Would you recommend this restaurant for lunch? We are on the dinning plan, what is included with this plan since everything is a la carte? Also, my children love steak, would you recommend spending the extra $2 for the child’s portion?

Since I was able to get Le Cellier and CRT we will need two more places for our sit downs. I am either doing the Tusker House or Chef Mickey’s for our son. Any other recommendations for a nice dinner for kids that tend to get antsy? Boma is not a choice since my husband nixed that when he saw the menu.

And, I read that the price for paying OOP at CRT includes tax and tip. How is this handled when on the DDP? TIA…Ann Marie

I would recommend Le Cellier for lunch. We ate there the first time since we also couldn't get dinner reservations. We had steak sandwiches which were so tender and flavorful.

Too bad about Boma. I thought the same thing your husband did when I saw the menu but I gave into my husband. Boy, am I glad I did! It is now one of our favorites. The food was actually much tastier than I thought it would be.

What parks are you looking for the other dinners?

We did Le Cellier for lunch and it was great! Best steak we ever had (NY strip) so I would definitely get the steak for you kids. We were on the dining plan and never payed extra for an upgraded meal like steak (LC & GFC) of skillet (WCC).

We absolutely loved the buffet at Tusker House (we did breakfast and lunch - lunch should be the same as dinner). They are both on our "to do" lists for our next trip.

We only ate Chef Mickey's for breakfast so I can't comment on dinner. Half of the people on this site will love it and the other half will hate it (same for most places).

A couple of my kids favorite places (DD2.5 and DD6) were 50's Prime Time (great fried chicken and one of our favorite meals- the wait staff gets on to the adults for silly things like elbows on the table - my DD6 laughed all the way through dinner because her Daddy kept getting in trouble), Whispering Canyon Cafe (pretty good food - we all had the skillet - kids have stick horse races and everyone does the hokey pokey - wait staff will bring 20 bottles of ketchup if you ask for some or 3 foot fork if you ask for a fork kind of sillyness) and Sci-Fi Dine In Theater (the food was not my favorite, but the huge screen playing non-scary B movie clips and Tom and Jerry cartoon clips was good enough to keep my 2.5YO in her seat for and hour and change - only problem - having the kids eat and watch the screen at the same time - the movie screen definitely came first)

Have a great trip

We actually prefer lunch to dinner at Le Cellier:) I think you will have a nice time. As for the steak for the kids, I think if they wanted it I would do it, but I would not push them about what to choose by presenting it as a steakhouse.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried to get O’hana but they only had openings for 9 pm. With two kids ages 5 and 6 it is just too late. So I chose the Kona Café. So my selections are:

Le Cellier for lunch 2:55 pm
Kona Café for dinner 6:15 pm
Tuskar House for Breakfast 10:15 am
The Royal Table for Breakfast 10:25 am.

I am so excited for this trip. Thanks everyone. Ann Marie
