Questions about late checkout!

We are checking into POR after our DCL cruise for a 1 night stay, and would really like to get late checkout...should we...
1) Let CRO know now so when the room assigner sees it, they will know?
2) Let CM know at check-in (9:00AM), so she can give us a room that we will not have to rush out of?
3) Just play it by ear and ask the night before...if they say no, and we don't get out till 1:00PM, what is the worst that could happen...they'll charge us 50% of the rate?

Our flight doesn't leave till 4:30PM!

she told us we have a better chance of getting it..
but flight delay and we arrived at 1:00 am and already pd. for 1 nght stay, so i explained nicely ..pls. the kids really needed to rest a full nights sleep, and he had to call someone and they said yes..thankfully...

When I need a late check-out, they always ask me to call the morning of check out. Sometimes I get lucky.. sometimes I don't.

we also asked about late check out last summer . we had 2 rooms at the asmusic. they let us have late check out for 1 room, so my dd and 2 friends just put their stuff in our room. we did not have to leave till later to catch the amtrak train home. i think we asked when we first got there, but they said also to remind the night before.

We were also told to call and ask in the morning that they wouldn't know for sure until then.
