Our first day at DLR will now be Tues June 22nd due to two "free" days on our tickets. I know it is the last day for alot of passholders and expect it to be crowded, so with that being said would you think it would be a good day to take the walk in walts footsteps tour in the am. (we would like to fit it in on our trip 22-26) and try to hit it early the next day when the AP blackout begins for the rest of our stay?

Also do you think most people will be heading to DCA in the evening for the WOC and we would stay in DL and try to do some attractions that dont have huge lines? (will there be any attractions later in the evening that have relativly short lines?) or will everything be crazy till closing at DL?

If the crowds are lighter the 23-26th id rather tour the park on our own during those days and do the walts tour during a busier day wouldnt you?

How would you plan for that day? THANKS for all your thoughts!!!!!

Yes, the 22nd will e a good day for a tour. And yes I think more guests will gravitate to DCA that day for the reasons you cited.

I was thinking of doing this for my husband during our trip(walk in walt's), which is the 21st-25th and was thinking the same thing. I think it would be best for you to do it Tues 'cause it's gonna be so horifically crowded. Now I have to figure out when I want to do the WOC picnic meal. I'm thinking Wed. would be the safest way to go with the ap'ers blocked. It'd be like-- double protection, guaranteed pass and ap's blocked. And yep-- I think Tues night would be a good night to try for rides. Just make sure you get your fast passes early. We're gonna be using our GAD fast passes Mon and Tues for sure, then probably Friday. I'd love to try to see WOC earlier than Wed. but I just don't think it's a good idea.:sad2:

THANKS GUYS!!!

I will call in the am to book our tour for Tuesday the 22nd. and hope for the best on Tues night in DL park.

Is there really a significant decrease in crowd size with the AP's being blocked? Im trying not to get my hopes up for smaller crowds, but that sure would be nice for our first trip. Im getting nervous we will be wondering around looking at the park map and saying now what to each other. im trying to read up as much as I can, even got last year maps from a co-worker and am trying to study them. I just feel like I got WDW down pat!!!

Any other words of advice, I'm listening!!!

Last summer there was a big difference between socal APs allowed and the blackout the next day. I'm not gonna say that the park was empty, but just compared to the day before I felt like I had some breathing room. First thing in the moring was still nice and we got a lot down on the more crowded days thanks to FPs. WOC changes things some, I'm sure. But it might make first thing at DL all the better. You'll just have to report back what the new June pattern is. :thumbsup2
