Hello,
My husband and I have booked a one week stay in October at the Wilderness Lodge (suite with courtyard view), not the Villas. Currently the AP rates haven't been released for October, so the current total cost of booking is about $2800 (this includes a one day ticket for each of us and a 6 day dining plan). We went this route because our plan is to just upgrade the one day ticket to the AP.
We are also working with Dreams Unlimited to book two Cat-6 rooms (four adults) for a 7 day cruise in November of 2008. Everything is set, just have to give them the deposit to nail it down. The two rooms are costing us $6000 total.
My husband is questioning whether it would benefit us to use all the money for that for a down payment on DVC, but only if we can use most of our DVC pts to pay for the trip this fall and the cruise. He was seeing if 300pts would be enough to make it work with borrowing if necessary from 2009 and using any left over from 2007 fall trip. For those that have the current 2007 and 2008 pt books, do any of you know why that wouldn't work? I've been reading about the possible developer pts offers, but haven't contacted a DVC rep to see what is currently being offered. He is planning to call them Monday.
Also, does anyone know if they actually put a limit on the number of developer pts they will give you. I mean if at the time of a purchase did they offer double pts, but limit it to a certain amount?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to look this up and reply!
