sorry - I have a bunch of questions about this place!
Do you have to be staying at the Disneyland Hotel for the character dinner? (we'll be at Cheyenne).
What kind of food was available?
What hours do they serve dinner, and when are the characters present?
Which characters visit?
Can you book in advance?
Approx how much is an adult meal?

Given you your own thread for this as I'm sure you'll get a few replies.

No you don't need to be staying at the Disneyland Hotel to eat here. In fact you don't even need to be staying at any of the Disney hotels.

No. Everyone can book Inventions (like at almost every other restaurant). With your booking receipt you can even use the Disneyland Hotel parking lot, the closest one to the park.

A huge, HUGE buffett (about 15-20m long?) with everything from several starters, meat, sea food, various side dishes, pasta, etc. etc., just up to a great variety of desserts.

Lunch 12.30-15.00, Dinner 18.30-22.30, and characters are (as far as I know) at the place all the time. Frequently. Almost every character. We took photos with Pluto, Mary Poppins and saw at least 4-5 more characters pass by in just one hour

You have to!

Plan about €40 for the buffet menu plus drinks.

Inventions is pricey, but I totally agree its worth it. Plan it as the last happening of your Disney trip. You can even watch the fireworks from the restaurant (try to be seated towards Main Street with a nice view at the Castle), so a "last evening" at Inventions can be the the icing on the cake with the complete magic all at one place!

We've eaten at Inventions twice. It is expensive (46 euros each) but I think it's worth the money.

Characters are only there for dinner, not lunch. First time we had Minnie, Perla, Suzy, Eeyore, Pluto, Tigger and Launchpad McQuack, second time it was Mickey, Chip and Dale, Donald, Goofy and Gepetto.

no you can be staying in any of the hotels and still dine at inventions

What kind of food was available?
we had the all you can eat buffet meal in the evening, they had EVERYTHING from adult food, like meats fish, sushi, etc, to all kids food, chips, chicken nuggets, fishy things,
desert wise, again adult type deserts to kids ice cream, jelly

What hours do they serve dinner, and when are the characters present?
i dont know what time they first start but we had our table booked at 7pm and characters were there from 7.15pm

Which characters visit?
i guess that depends on who they bring out, but we had happy, tweedle dee and tweedle dum, pinocchio, and minne and mickey mouse

Can you book in advance?
yes you can book in adance though i dont know how much in adance, we booked the day before..and its addvisable to book aswell

Approx how much is an adult meal?
cant remember but as we had this meal and money planned we had 4 adult meals, a bottle of wine, largers, and was just under 200 euros i think but was worth every single penny.

There were lots of different salad dishes but I am afraid I don't remember how many would be suitable for vegetarians as they may have had meat/fish in the ingredients. Sorry.

I seem to remember there being at least one Vegetarian Dish, I but other the salads and vegetables I don,t think there much choice for non-fish, non-meat eating customers.
