We are down to a little over 4 months to go and I still have so much to do. Due to DD having statewide school testing during the week of April 22, 2006, we decided to move up our date to April 1. The wedding is closer now :cheer2: but that also means I've got to get busy planning.

Now that we've changed our date we have to find a new officiant since Rev. Day has a wedding booked that day. He recommended that we talk to Rev. Tim Hering(??). I've also heard good things about Kevin Knox. I would love to hear any opinions on an officiant.

Also, we are trying to figure out what to do after the ceremony. We are having the ceremony at 2:00PM at Sunset Pointe. We want to have a reception dinner somewhere but not sure where. :confused3 We are also thinking about doing a fireworks cruise later that evening. I've heard that you can have the cruise catered. Does anyone have any information on that?

Well I think that's all of my questions for now...I'm sure I will have more. Thanks for any infomation/suggestions. :bride:

When we got married at Sunset Pointe we had our reception dinner at OHanas because it was one of my families favorite places. We then had a Fireworks cruise on the Grand One that picked us up from the Polynesian. It was great!! They will cater the meal but we didn't do this because we had just eaten a huge meal. My wedding was at 5.

We had Rev. Kevin Knox for our ceremony and I really liked him! Here's a thread about him: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=944991

I haven't heard of too many brides from here using Rev. Tim lately...could be that the brides using him just haven't heard of the DIS :earseek:

Send them both an email (I don't have the email addresses with me right now, but I think Disney provides them in the package) and see what you think about their responses...

Good Luck!!

I think Ohanahs would be a great idea. If you're looking for something fancier there is always Narcoosees and Citricos right by the Poly at the Grand. Oh, and Disney changed their ADR's from 90 days out to 180 so you might want to decide soon! How exciting that you get to move your date up!

Private dining from the resort where you get the boat for the fireworks cruise can cater your party. We had fruit & cheese platters along with water, soda and beer. Unfortunately that night in March was pretty cool out, no one had more than one drink.

Thank you everyone for the information so far. This board has really been a big help in trying to plan our wedding. I'll definitely put Ohanas on our list for our reception. There will only be about 8 of us.

I received an email from Rev. Tim today with some info that I still need to look over. I haven't heard from Rev. Knox yet but it sounds like he is highly recommended. I hope to hear back from him soon so we can make a decision and have someone booked.

Next, we have to make a decision on where to stay. We already have reservations for POFQ, but we've been thinking about changing to AKL. Or maybe splitting between the two and moving to AKL after the wedding?? All of this planning is so much fun! :cloud9: Thanks again!
