Questions about getting new windows in my house

We're getting replacement windows in our house and I'm looking for advice. I don't need the best windows, but I don't want to just go for the cheapest either. I'd like vinyl windows, good on keeping the heat in (we live in the Northeast), and easy to clean. Any recommendations? Pella, Newpro, Anderson??? I don't know the difference between any of these.

We also need a replacement bay window. I think I'm going to faint when I see the estimates for that one.

Any has anyone used Sears or Home Depot for installation?

We have Harvey windows and we really like them. We had a different replacement window over the kitchen sink and it was so hard to open and close, and the mechanism to tilt the window in to clean it was very awkward. We have since had it replaced with a Harvey window and we have no problems.

We had Harvey windows installed two years ago and love them. We noticed a big difference in our heating bill.
