I made my yearly trek to the dr's yesterday (primary care) to get my physical. While I was there she mentioned that becuase i had just turned 26 that I should consider getting this series of shots, Gardasil, because the cutoff age is 26. This is the shots for the HPV and the cervical cancer thing, in case anybody didnt know what i was talking about. Have any of you guys done this? Or maybe taken your kids due to you can start getting it at age 9. Its fairly new i think which is my i am a little hesitant but either way i scheduled an appt for the new year. Any thoughts, experiences, side effects allergies??? just curious...

Yes, my daughters, now 13 and 18, had their first shots two months ago, and DD13 had the second one yesterday. DD18 will go this week or next for her second shot. They will get the 3rd and final one in late April. The schedule is 1st shot, 2nd shot two months later, 3rd shot 4 months later. Neither of them had any adverse reaction - it stung a little at the time, but no swelling or anything after the first shot.

I think this is so important, and what a wonderful thing it is to have available!!!

I will have my girls vaccinated when they are old enough, too.

I don't take any vaccine until it has been on the market for at least 2 years.
