Sailing on the December 18 Wonder cruise with a total of 5 people. Where would you stay near the port and would you book a hotel that offers parking for the cruise?
Because I live in Katy (Texas), I cannot recommend a hotel; however, if it comes down to it that you just need parking- we always park at Lighthouse Parking. Always.
From dcassetta's post just above mine- I'd stay in any of those hotels listed in the initial post "All things Galveston" post.
Also, we will be on your December 18th sailing!! Just 241 more days!

I don't want to hijack your thread, but I'll be getting married on Castaway during our sailing- my fiancé is going to just LOVEEEEE our cruise since he's a huge Star Wars fan AND he's getting married at Castway!

Coming in late to the discussion, but many years ago we stayed at the Harbor House Hotel before a cruise and it was great. http://www.harborhousepier21.com/
altho the Tremont has good reviews-its in a really old building-like early 1900's-and the Historic Downtown has only a few cheap tshrt shops to keep you busy(which is where the ship docks)
I like the hotels on the gulf-and they are only 10-15 min drive away-Hilton is nice-but we LOVE Moody gardens Hotel-so much to do at the pyramids there!
