questions about dressing up

Oh my gosh, I know now what people mean when they say when it comes down to the last min they forget everything. That's how I feel.

I got my DD who is 23 months this gorgeous snow white princess dress. I was wondering what night she should wear it. Should it depend on the dining room we are in or should it depend on a certain night of the cruise?

DH and I are taking 1 'sorta' dressey outfit each and we would like to wear that the same night she is in her princess dress for a nice family photo. The other nights we are taking nice clothes like khakis and a polo for him and slacks and a nice shirt for me. Will this work? We won't be doing Palo (gasp, can you believe that) because we want to spend our dinners as a family.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would suggest that your DD wear her dress on formal night, regardless of which restaurant you're in. That's the night when the ship's photographers will be taking family pictures. Your attire should be based on the evening's theme, not on your dining rotation. It's nice if it works out that you are, for example, in Parrot Cay on tropical night, but obviously that can't be true for everyone! (It's also nice to be in Lumiere's on formal night!)

Watch your navigator for times they are taking portraits in the Atrium. If you are going on a 7-day there is a definite formal and semi-formal night and professional portraits were taken in the Atrium. If you are doing a 3 or 4-day, I remember there still being portraits done in the Atrium.

Your little princess can even get her picture taken with a princess! Other than that, I think any dinner on the cruise is a good time to get dressed up! We dressed up every night! It was fun!

I guess I should have stated we are on the 4 night. I didn't think there was a designated formal night. If that were true we'd definately be taking our best clothes. From what I heard the 3 and 4 nights were not as formal except for Palo.

With that being said, which is the best time on the 4 day?

Thanks.

When we went on the Wonder it was the day we ate at Lumiere's. They were taking pictures outside of the restaurant. At that time Lumiere's dress code was more formal than the other two on rotation.;)

I mean Triton's not Lumiere's. Guess I'm looking forward to our first trip on the Magic so much I got the two mixed up!!

I would choose to dress up more for Triton's, as well. I'm almost positive that they take pictures nightly. You may want to check Barb and Tony's website www.castawayclub.com because they have navigators posted on there. You can take a look at each day on the 4-day navigator to see if this is true.

I'd say dress her in her princess dress (and you in your dressier clothes) on the night you are eating in Triton's.

(we were on the 3 night Wonder last June and the photographers were in the atrium every evening taking portraits).
