Questions about domain names and web hosting

Greetings!

I am looking to purchase a domain name and have a website hosted. It will be a simple website with 5-10 pages maximum. I'm looking for a company that can do it all...register the domain, provide tools to build the website and host it. I have no idea what a fair price for these services would be.

Any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Our company uses ipower. They do the domain names and web hosting for us.

Godaddy for my site too. I've tried a few others, but Godaddy is the only one where I didn't have any downtime.

register.com wanted like $70 a year to just register my domain name and forward traffic to my smugmug picture site! No hosting of anything just forwarding.

I got all that plus email and more from godaddy for $10 a year!

I would suggest Network Solutions (also known as Internic). They are the primary registrar for the US. Their prices are very reasonable; they start at $9.99 per month and it includes your domain name and five GB of space and multiple e-mails. And since I started using them over a year ago I have had zero downtime. Also if you are away from your regular computer and do not have access to a mail program you can get into their netmail from any browser. Check them at www.internetsolutions.com

Again, thanks for the replies. Dh is a high tech consultant who is thinking about doing a little something on the side. Neither of us are marketing people but though a web site would help. I guess well also put something on craigslist.
