Questions about Disneyland Hotel

Well, I finally took the plunge and booked the Disneyland Hotel for an upcoming trip this June. It has been years since I have been to Disneyland and even longer since I have been to the Disneyland Hotel, so I will be scanning this board a lot in the next couple of months!

I booked a preferred room at DLH, which I assume means you could be in either side of the Sierra Tower and the pool side of the Bonita and Marina towers. Does anyone have any preference or tips on which tower has the nicer rooms? I assume they are all decorated similarly, but I was wondering which tower has the larger rooms, nicer features. What do the experts here recommend? The walking distance to DTD and the parks is nice, but a nice big room would be good too.

Last time I stayed at the DLH, it was early in the 1980s travelling with the parents, and we were in the Bonita tower. I remember the room being very large and it had a wet bar in the room. I still remember listening to the waterfall at night and looking out over the Marina and man-made lake that used to be between the three towers. This time I have the wife and two kids with and am looking forward to re-discovering Disneyland with them.

I am very jealous. I haven't yet decided whether I'll pay the big bucks :scared1: and stay on-site or save $$$$ with the hotels on Harbour. But, DLH certainly is pulling me. My DD6 is a huge fan of Peter Pan, and that pool alone would have me stay in an instant if I was sure we could enjoy it in March.

I was very lucky to get availability using my DVC points on short notice like this. Surprisingly the only hotel open was the DLH, which was perfect because I really wanted to stay here, and so did the kids when I showed them the pictures of the pool!

We stayed in the Bonita tower, with the waterfall view 6th floor. We loved our room. We did not have a wet bar though... but we had the fold out couch. On the way home, when the bell-hop was carting our luggage down he told us we had a great room. That the ones across the hall from us were tiny. PS: We were able to see the fireworks.

That thread is great! Lots of good information. I need to start printing some of this stuff up so I can take it along. I still don't know which tower to request, if I even bother to request one. Being on a higher floor would be nice though, maybe that is a better request.
