Hi, I'm new here! *waves* I was just wondering if anyone really wears costumes to the Halloween event. I mean, I know it says you can but does anyone actually do it? I really want to but I don't want to show up and be the only one in a costume. I went to Disneyland during the day when they had Halloween decorations up and I was wearing mickey pumpkin ears and some really cool fangs as a mini dress up thing in honor of the Halloween spirit and people just stared at me like I was a freak. I thought other people might be Halloween-ish but I was the only one. I don't really want that to happen again haha.

Also, I was a little dissappointed with their Halloween spirit. I mean mainstreet was great and of course the Haunted Mansion was great (although it looked less decorated than last year) but the rest of the park was bare! I thought there was going to be more of an effort in the decorations. This whole thing has made me uneasy about the Not-So-Scary event. I feel like I shelled out 60 bucks for my mom and I to go in a couple weeks and it might not even be that great.

Anyone have any comments to reassure me?

I would venture to say there are more people in costume during MNSSHP than not. At least, it seemed that way when we went a couple of years ago. We saw some great costumes, too. It was a blast. I really don't think you'll regret going.

They go all out with the decorations and the music, not to mention Hallowishes - it's an amazing fireworks show!

Bottom line, wear your costume and have a great time!

It is just a few times a year that even adults can wear costumes and that is during MNSSHP. Wear a costume and have a fun time.

We just returned from our 9/14 - 9/22 trip and we attended the 21st party. We all dressed up. I was Minnie Mouse, DH was Pirate, DD1 was Alice in Wonderland, DS was Pirate, DD2 was Cinderalla, DD3 was Minnie Mouse, DBIL was Pirate, DSIL was Mouseketeer, DNiece was Cinderella, DNephew was Pirate and DNiece2 was Tinkerbell. We had a lot of fun dressing up.

:welcome: During the day you won't see anyone in costumes, but for the party, absolutely!!! Dress in costume...you'll be glad you did. ::yes::

We went last year and the prev post was right. You don't see the costumes during the day but at night a lot of people dress up. Also, during the day it doesn't look like Halloween but starting about 4 o'clock the cast members start decorating for the party. It pretty amazing how they can change the atmosphere in such a short time!
Oh and btw...we had a blast last year so we' re going back for the Oct 8th party and bringing more people too!:hmghost:

Dress up and have a great time!

DH and I went all out last year. Costumes, fangs and face paint. This year will be a little more subdued b/c we're going early to MK to go eat at CP.

Me and my family of 9 will all be in full costume (with a change of clothes stored in the locker in case we get too hot). We are going to the Oct 23rd party.
This is our first and we feel as though it will add to the fun to dress up!

Wow, i'm so glad to hear that it's worth it. I'll definately be dressing up then!
