Questions about Disney Dining vs ala carte

We just bought the Donald's 3 day Meal Plan
should I make reservations at Goofy's kitchen for my family
3 Adults 2 kids 13/16
or should we use the vouchers for ala carte?
this is our first time using the vouchers for food. Has anyone some suggestions as to what they did or would do.
I know everyone has prob asked that but wanted to ask anyways.

It's been years since we did Disney Dining, however, IIRC, it's a better value to use the vouchers for Goofy's Kitchen. Hopefully someone will post the value you would get for the vouchers if you go Ala Carte and then you can make a more educated decision. Goofy's is a Character Buffet and it's worth it to go and pay for Brunch there, IMO, so I'd use the voucher for that. I've heard mixed reviews of the Dinner Buffet there...

You can only use the vouchers a la carte if they have a value printed on the front of the voucher - which the Goofy's Kitchen did not (all the other ones did though). So we went to Goofy's Kitchen for dinner (not our first choice).
