So, we, of course, just found out that there will be Free Dining during our planned October F & W trip. This news comes out right in the middle of my discussions with DH and DM about what to do about food during our trip.
Don't get me wrong, we already have "backup" ADRs... DH, DS, and I have them for every dinner, and almost every lunch, because I made them online early in the am the first morning possible. However, now that the F & W schedule is out, DH wants me to move most of them if we can get the events we want to attend reserved. We currently have a lot of (in some cases, hard to get) ADRs at times that are perfect for us. (We have CRT, Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Cali Grill, etc) The problem is that DH has now figured out what events he is interested in attending, and he wants me to move all the meals around. We'd agreed that that was the plan - I'd make our fall backs at the first possible moment , but we'd move them around once we figured out what F & W events we hoped to attend. But here's the problem - I don't think we can book F & W events yet. I don't want to release our current ADRs in case we can't get the events we hope to attend. By the time we know what we can book for F & W, I bet it will be too late to reschedule even our less popular choices, much less our top ones. Help!
To add to the confusion, DM and DSF are mostly going to do a golf and relax vacation. They are currently planning on one F & W festival day, 3 golf days, and 3 resort days (we're doing a split stay, BWV while we do F & W, AKV at the end for DS.) They allowed me to book ADRs for one lunch and a couple of dinners for them, but they mostly planned to grab food around the BW or munch in the room.
Now, with free dining out there, will they have easy options for lunch in the BW area? What about dinner on the nights they don't want to go with us? Will most people in the BW area actually go into Epcot for meals, so they'll have a shot at those restaurants, or should I warn them they'll need to plan on a lot of eating in the room?
