My two DSs and I will be using DDP for the first time. We will be staying for 5 nights. I believe that means that we have 5 TS, 5 CS and 5 snacks each. Is this correct?

Will the credits show up on each persons KTTW card or are all of the credits in one "bank"?

My older DS will be arriving a day later and leaving a day early and will have credits that he will not use. Can my younger DS and I use those credits?

All of the Dining Plan credits are accessible from any of the KTTKs.

Yes! :goodvibes They are all pooled and can be used however you wish. It truly is quite easy to use. Your receipt will show the number remaining on it!

Just back today and we had 2 adults and 2 kids on the plan for 5 nights so we had 20 counter service credits. YOu can use them however you want. My kids got mostly kids meals but for breakfast they wanted the big Mickey Waffle and they don't separate the kids from the adults on the CS credits. We got more adult CS meals than we did kids and they said that was fine!

Thanks everybody!!!

This is our first time on DDP. I didn't want to run out of credits popcorn::

I created a little pocket chart the boys can take so they will know how many credits to spend per day and where in each park they can use them.

Thanks again!!!

Generally, Disney doesn't care if younger children use standard credits (though there are exceptions); Disney's apparent concern is only with regard to when credits purchased for young children, at just $10.99 per day, are used to purchase adult meals.

I am making sure that I have this straight. Many people have suggested ordering to CS and sharing at some of the places. I have 2 adults and 2 children on the plan. Do I have to specify 1 adult and 1 child or can I just order adult meals when we do that? Not clear on that...

For TS, Disney enforces the separation of child and adult credits through its POS system. For CS, guests are on their honor to not order more adult meals than they've paid for.

I hope that helps.

Okay, this could become another argument thread. There is the Disney policy and then the actuality of what you can get away with. I'll spell them both out as I understand them.

First let's talk Table Service. From what I understand, Disney has now separated the Child Table Service and Adult Table Service credits. So now it is impossible to cheat on table service by paying out of pocket for the kids and using that credit for an adult. Good, problem and discussion solved. (if they did indeed separate the credits, I haven't been since that change apparently happened).

Now let's talk Counter Service. Apparently they did not separate the counter service credits. So in essence if you have 4 people, 2 adults and 2 kids Disney expects that you will purchase 2 adult CS meals and 2 Kids CS meals for each day of your credits. But since the credits are not separated on the ticket then it is apparent that you can go order 4 Adult CS meals without a question and Disney has no way to track this on the plan. No one will probably be questioned, even when the kids are in line with them as it probably isn't worth the hassle.

Now, does that make it okay to order the kids an adult CS meal. Ethically, probably not. Financially, probably not. But the question does remain... If Disney has the ability to separate the credits (which they must, since they did it with the TS) then why did they not do it with the CS meals. Maybe they truly don't care. Maybe they do.

Anyhooo, everyone will have their opinions. Bicker will be by the book and that is certainly the most ethical way to go. Others will argue that the kids meals are crap and they can't be expected to give the kids nuggets everyday. I agree with that too. But as stated, 11 bucks a day isn't much. Figure the kids table service at 8 bucks (12 if you go to a buffet), 4 or 5 bucks for a CS kids meal, and then a snack at 2-4. You are making out well enough. So getting an adult meal with a kid credit is cheating. But again, what 9 year old wants 4 or 5 chicken nuggets for lunch? And they make everyone in the room get the plan right? So there is the argument that they didn't make enough good choices. That is true too. I'm lucky because I have 2 kids. I will get them both a kids meal and then order something extra out of pocket to cover the rest of their hunger. Oh, who am I kidding? I'll order them the adult CS meal and see if anyone cares.

I'll tell you what I'll do. In January I will go to a CS and order an adult meal and tell them it is for my child on the DDP. I will see if they make me pay OOP or not. You'd think that would answer the question. But it won't because people will argue that the CM didn't understand the rules.

Jeesh, can you tell I've read a few of these threads? :cool1:

If Disney has the ability to separate the credits (which they must, since they did it with the TS) then why did they not do it with the CS meals.
The best explanation I've read is that it would require taking over another button on the cash register. Reprogramming the POS systems, and retraining all staff, are remarkably expensive propositions.

Bicker will be by the book and that is certainly the most ethical way to go.

Why would you need to give them a chart surely they are not doing Disney without an adult with them to "purchase" whatever meals or snacks they require?
If they are on the child's plan they are under ten years old.

When we went I was trying to keep track of the adult CS meals used and the Childrens CS meals used. Some nights we would split an adult meal for dinner and one night my little one was sleeping so she didn't eat. It is really hard to keep track of the CS on your own as far as adult and childrens left.

I called the front desk to ask how many child and adult CS meals were left and they told me the total number of meals. I asked to separate into Child and adult and they said it didn't matter that they are all pooled together so use them as you wish. Most of the time my kids wanted a kids meal but at Peco's Bills my daughter wanted a burger and they don't offer that for a kids meal which I found a little strange so I paid OOP for an adult meal for her. This was before I knew that the CS could be used either way.

I ended up having a lot of CS left over so the last morning we went for breakfast and I just ordered a few Mickey Waffles for everyone including the kids to use up the CS credits. If they wanted to separate the CS points believe me Disney would find a way to do it.
