Questions about Cypress Pointe and Wyndham Palms?

We are thinking of planning a last minute trip for May. We hadn't planned for this trip so we are needing to cut costs as much as possible. We have never stayd off-site before, but for $$ reasons we need to for this trip.

We are looking into Cypress Pointe and Wyndham Plams. Both look pretty good and I have read some positive comments here on the board. I have seen really great rates for both.

Has anyone stayed in the studio at Cypress Pointe? We will be traveling with our 3 year old and like to put him down for naps and to bed early. I am uncertain of the layout of this room based on the pictures on the web. Is there an actual door to the bedroom area or is it just a shutter/curtain?

How far from Disney are these 2 places? We will have a rental car, but I don't want to be really far away.

If you are familar with both do you have a preference for one over the other?

Thanks so much! I can't believe we might actually be going again this year!

Hi Kim'

My family and I are staying at Cypress Pointe in April and I heard that they have no doors on bedrooms and bathrooms so I called them today to find out the deal. The lady on the phone told me that the only room that doesn't have doors is the Studio in Phase 1. All the others have doors on the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Also, from what I have read on this board, Cypress Point is closer to disney. And I also read that some people think that wyndham is nicer. For us it was money and cypress point was cheaper. We went throug Hotelkingdom.

Hope this helps.:D

i just had to make the same decision on a unplanned trip that i leave for tomorrow on. it's just me and my 2yo son. i chose a wyndham palms 1 bdrm for a bit more in price thru hotelkingdom.com over a cp studio for a couple of reasons that were important to me.

1. washer/dryer in the room at the wyndham, not included with a studio at cp
2. jacuzzi at wp in the room, not included with the studio at cp
3. there is actually for sure a separate bedroom area at wp
4. i actually like the west 192 area better than the area that cp is located in. the area that cp is located in has more traffic and congestion. the west 192 area has less traffic and there is a back entrance to wdw that has hardly any traffic on it......wp is only a stop light away from this back entrance.

the only thing that cp had over the wp was that the studio, i believe had a balcony/patio. when i called wp to see if the 1 bdrm has this, i was told only some of them do.........i hope i get it.....but dont expect that i will.......i am pretty sure the 1bdrm listed with hotelkingdom is the one without the balcony.

make sure that if you do go with wp to become a wyndham by request member.....and add this member number to your ressie so you can get a few extra little perks. well hope this helps......as i have just pondered this same type of question........leaving in less than 12 hours.......hooray!

Is getting a 1BR at Cypress Pte an option? You would have the location and the space then. I happen to think that the LBV area that CP is in is less congested then 192 and I try to avoid 192 if possible (although we have stayed in that area alot!)

I have heard Wyndham Palms is very nice however so I dont think you could go wrong with either.

Thanks for the input. I think we leaning toward the Wyndam Palms even though it is slightly more expensive. It seems the floor plan would better suit our needs and we like having a washer/dryer.

Any time estimates for how long it takes to get to the different parks from here?

Thanks,
Kim
