questions about college program courses

I have questions about the college program courses that are available to take. How many can you take at a time? Do you take them all on the same day? How many hours a day are each of the courses. Are they night courses? Could someone give me an example of what the typical course load would be like in a week. How much homework are we talking about? Is there a cheap way to obtain the books required for the courses and are they necessary? I am trying to decide if I should take the classes as I really don't need or want the credits. Is it worth taking the courses for the contacts/experience that will come for taking them?
