Questions about buying an AP...

We are planning a trip to DL for next month. My family already has APs. Both grandmas are planning to come with us this time. In comparing ticket prices, it appears that buying the cheapest So Cal pass is the smartest thing cost-wise (we do qualify with our zip code ). The dates we are going are not blocked out.

*My first question is, are they sold any place cheaper than the DL site? Anyone offer a discount?

*And my other question is about when to purchase. If they purchase them tonight online, are they valid from the purchase date or the day we actually go to the park & get it scanned? We won't be going until December so not sure if I need to make sure they wait to purchase them.

I'm not sure if anyone offers discounts, but regarding your second question, if you order them online, the year doesn't begin until you activate them at the park, and you'll be fine to order them now if you're going in December.

Just keep in mind that with AP's, you don't get MM privileges without staying at an on-site hotel, so if that is important to you, you might consider upgrading after the trip if you were planning to get at least 3-day park hoppers.

Thanks! MM would be fun but I'm not worried about it. At this point it's only the grannies who don't have APs anyway so the rest of us would be out for that option anyway.

Also, a 3-day is $184 while the AP is $144.

Oh wow I knew they weren't much, but I had no idea the SoCal Selects were that cheap! That's a no-brainer.
