Questions about Beaches and Cream

I have some questions about Beaches and Cream with the dining plan. My understanding is that it counts as a table service credit. Is that true? They do not seem to take reservations. If it is in fact a TS, is it worth it? Is it super busy and difficult to get a seat even during off peak hours? We are thinking of eating around 4:30 during our visit in April.

What do you think?

I wouldn't use a TS here. It's fairly inexpensive so I'd pay OOP.

The restaurant is very small and right by the pool. There's maybe 10 tables and a counter. So there can be long waits to get in.

We go in occasionally if we are staying at YC/BC but I wouldn't wait to be seated. The CS at the pool, Hurricane Hannahs, has similar food.

I agree with Pakey. If you want a great ice cream sundae, this is the place to go, but it is not worth a TS credit. The sundae's are great, but the rest of the menu has your typical grilled cheese, burgers, etc. As mentioned, it is very small and they do not take reservations. 4:30 pm is probably a pretty good time to go as you may miss the big lunch and dinner crowds. I may get flamed for this, but maybe make a back-up reservation at a non-credit card hold restaurant close by in case you can't get in? You could always cancel it if you are seated at Beaches and Cream. Captain's Grille is close by, as are the restaurants at Swan and Dolphin. Kouzzina is fairly close as well. That way, if you don't get in, you at least have a place to eat and could walk up for a take-out ice cream cone for dessert?!

I stayed at BC and and can tell you Hurricane Hanna's serves the EXACT SAME hamburgers as Beaches and Cream, so you're better off using a CS at HH.

Also, the line to get into Beaches can be crazy at times since no ressies are taken and the place is a shoebox. You may be wasting a lot of time waiting if you try to eat there.

A better option if you are staying in this area is an after dinner stop or late night if you're on the Boardwalk to get a sundae. (I like the No Way Jose but me and my DS are planning on a Kitchen Sink in 2 weeks).

No way it's worth a TS credit, but we sure love to go there for their banana splits and sundaes - yummy :thumbsup2

Can you get sundae's to go? My fam and I want to go about a half an hour before they close (is that a busy time?) just to get a couple of sundaes.

Half an hour before they close is a busy time. It is very busy after Illuminations. The take out menu is very limited and does not include the signature sundaes.

Their to-go menu if very limited. I don't think you can get a sundae to go. The best time to go to B&C is when they open at 11am. As PP said, if it's around Illuminations time, it gets very crowded.
