We're thinking of trying to get an AP rate at BC  , we've got a few questions since it'll be our first time there:)

Is Stormalong Bay all sandy bottom, also does the pool area get "icky" with all the sand?

What's a good request for a standard view room here? Are there any rooms that "face" Epcot?

How long does it take to walk to Epcot?

I'm sure I'll have more if I'm able to switch my ressie tomorrow :p

I don't think all of SAB has a sandy botttom - but can't remember for sure.
Both times we were there we had a room facing Epcot - but you are also overlooking part of the BC roof. Wasn't bad, tho, as were really only there at night, and it was great to see Spaceship Earth all lit up! The walk to Epcot is very quick - maybe 5 or 10 minutes. We just love to stay at the BC - looking forward to being there again next year! :cool1:

Thanks for your help! :wave2:

I was able to switch - yeah! :cheer2:

I didn't request anything this morning though - I didn't have the most helpful CM

We just love Beach Club. We love to stay there in the Villas with our DVC points so I don't know about other rooms and if they face EPCOT. This is probably my families favorite place to stay. We also just love Beaches and Cream. That's where my kids ask to eat rather than anything else. They are DS11, DS9, DD6 and DS2. The pool is great for them although I don't like the fact that it is so spread out. I still get turned around when I realize I have to go over or under some bridge or around to get back to our towels. The best part for us is the HUGE zero entry part. It is a sandy bottom although you will find towards the center there is no sand. Regular concrete bottom. It is just great because the kids really feel like they are on a beach but without waves. It is amazing how the sand does not get the pool icky. I think it is more of teeny tiny rocks than sand. Of course I guess that is what sand is ---but this isn't so fine. In the other part of the pool there is also sand but it also collects in certain areas. There are 2 places that have "sinking sand" and our kids love to find them. Just a deeper part where the sand is thicker in a very small area. Across the road where the small slide is and where you walk up the steps to the big slide is a small pool about 3-4 feet deep. It is just a regular bottom I'm pretty sure. We go over there so they can slide down the slide. There is a lifeguard there too. There are plenty of them all over the pool. One at the zero entry, one walking along the lazy river, one over by the exit to the big slide, and one with the little slide, and there is another over by the whirlpool I think. I may have forgotten one. The whirlpool is another favorite because it really goes around. They love to get on floaties and just float. Makes me nervous because the water moves pretty fast but then again, I am not a water person. Daddy and kiddos love it.

We LOVE the Beach Club so hope you have a great time. Oh and there is a snack bar right by the pool too. Just beware of the birds. Don't feed them even once and don't leave your food for any reason. More than once we've seen the birds fly off with people's food or be all over their table. Once you feed them......

Have a great trip!!

We learned that from first-hand experience. Do not leave food around!! :rotfl:

As far as room requests, if you want to use a balcony, you may want to request a full-size balcony. Some of them are standing-room only. We requested a room close to the lobby, pool, bus stop. It was a great location on the second floor down the main hallway. We just walked up the staircase in the lobby and our room was the fourth room or so. It was a great location to get everywhere-just down the stairs and off you go. We faced the BC Villas. Our first room was actually overlooking a large very ugly roof and smelled of smoke-the complete opposite of our requests. Of course, we checked in at 7:00 pm on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend so they were at capacity. When we asked to be moved, they were very nice and accomodated us with the great room I mentioned above the next morning.

The pool is wonderful.

I got up before the rest of my family and would take time to walk around Bay Lake. Stepping out of the resort and looking at the view across the Lake towards the Boardwalk area is beautiful that time of day. It's even more beautiful at night.

My only complaint was the lack of a food court type area to grab something quick to eat when the poolside bar wasn't open.

While it isn't a true food-court, perhaps the recent Beach Club Markeplace remodeling (adding the deli case & refillable mug station, etc) will take care of some of the no-food-court comments that guests have had in the past.
I sure hope so, because we are staying there in August :) .

I think you are right.
It's a beautiful resort with a great location. You will have a great time.

Thank you all for your help!

I've thought of some more questions

Can you walk to MGM from the Beach Club? If so how long of a walk is it?

You could but we took the boat. It was a nice and relaxing ride.

Where do you leave from Epcot to walk to the Beach Club? We would like to try Beaches and Cream for lunch.

You exit via the International Gateway in World Showcase. It is located between the UK and France Pavillions.
