Questions about Beach Club

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to stay at the Beach Club next year and I have a couple of questions.

Why do some of the rooms have dual bathroom sinks and some only have one?

Do they provide tea bags in the rooms? If so, what kind?

Do the standard view rooms have fireworks views despite the fact they're rooftop or parking lot views?

How small are undersized balconies people speak of?

When booking a standard room what are reasonable requests? Can I request a fireworks view and a larger balcony for example?

Many thanks in advance for your help! :D

I think you may be looking at pictures of both the Beach Club resort and the Beach Club Villas (DVC). The villas would come with a kitchenette in the room and perhaps the single sink you're seeing.

We booked a standard room, though I think we were upgraded to lagoon...and we could see the fireworks from DHS from our balcony. Again though, I do believe we had been upgraded.

The little juliet balconies are really only big enough for one person out there. I think you should definitely request a full balcony if that's important to you. :)

I also think you are confusing the hotel side Beach Club with BC Villas (the time share). The Villas have studios that provide a kitchenette, they do not have two beds though. One queen size bed with a pull out couch. The Villas also have a single sink.

We have stayed in both and both are great. With the Villas though there are some extra things to be aware of, no daily house keeping, rooms are not as updated as the hotel side (since membership dues pay for those things) etc.

Yes. Your question is referring to two separate resorts. Disney's Beach Club Resort is a hotel, with hotel rooms and a few suites. Disney's Beach Club Villas is a timeshare resort (which can also be booked through Disney's reservation system), part of the Disney Vacation Club, and has studio, one and two bedroom villas. What kind of room you'll get depends on which resort you booked.

Yeah, there are no standard rooms on the resort side with a kitchen of any type. So you have to be looking at a Villa room.

Thanks for the clarification! I'm pleased the the hotel side has been renovated, I much prefer the new decor! :flower1:

The vast majority of Beach Club resort rooms have double sinks. We have been in two rooms that had a single sink. One of them was a corner room with a king bed. The other room was a handicap room. But those were unusual rooms and very rare. I wouldn't worry about it. :)

Most of the standard view rooms face the parking lot side of the resort. Many people have reported seeing the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom from those rooms. Others have reported seeing both the Illuminations fireworks and the MK fireworks. But there is no guarantee that you will see either one. Sometimes trees or other obstructions are in the way.

The standing balconies are probably three feet wide by two feet deep. Two people could stand on them. I've see people take the desk chair and put it in the balcony doorway, but the chair is half in and half out of the room.

You will be able to request a full balcony with online check in. You would have to call to add fireworks view. You can also request to be close to the elevator. Most of the standard view rooms are on the third and fourth floors, so there aren't a lot of options with these rooms.

One other thing... Can I request a kettle in the room? I drink tea rather than coffee. Do they provide tea bags as well as coffee?

Thanks! :)

They do provide tea bags. They have Twinnings Earl Grey and Green Tea in the rooms. I don't know if you can request a kettle. You can brew hot water using the coffee maker, although it isn't ideal. There is a bigger selection of tea in the Marketplace that is available if you have a refillable mug.

Just one other thing... :) Do they have cribs/pack and play for small babies? Is there a charge for this?

They do and no charge.
BC is one resort where we've even had them in the room, even though we had no use for it. I don't believe they are left in there normally. Maybe they leave them in random rooms if the prior guest needed them?
One time the staff came and asked if they could take the pack and play and we said sure, DH and I had no use for it ;)

If a balcony is important to you, you might consider the Yacht Club since most rooms there have them.

Yes to this OP! If you want to be 100% sure you get a balcony then go with Yacht Club.

I'm staying at the Beach Club for the first time late August into early September. We are booked for a lagoon or pool view room - not club level. I am planning to request a full balcony. It seems like most full balconies are second floor...just looking at pictures of the resort. Is that true? Can anyone confirm?

Without counting them it does seem like the second floor has the most full balconies, excluding club level rooms. Every time we've had a second floor room it has had a full balcony. But there are some with the standing balcony, so it definitely isn't 100%.

Are the Beach Club rooms on just 3 levels? Also, does anyone know if you get a daybed in every king room? It looks like these rooms may be slightly bigger?
I'm planning on booking a standard view room, what are people's experiences of being upgraded? Can I request a better view and hope I get one? I'm going in mid October so I'm hoping it won't be as busy then and that they will have more availability?

I am curious too and the requests on check in didn't list check in or full balcony at BC

Correct. One of the main reasons I phone in my room requests is that the options during Online Check In are predetermined and very limited. They never match what we like to request.
