Hi everyone,

I now understand what an add-on is but I have a few more questions. We are planning our wedding for May 2006 but no arrangements have been made yet. Regarding add-ons, if we book our own hotel and add our Intimate Wedding on, will be still receive all of the benefits we would if we had booked the wedding part first? I know we can probably save $$ on hotels if we book on our own. Does anyone know any good websites we can check our for hotel deals or should we go through a travel agent? I'm brand new to the wedding planning process and want to make sure I have as much info as I can before we actually make arrangements. Also, does anyone know if the Wilderness Lodge is more couple-friendly or no? I've never been to Disney World so I'm relying on info from others in making some decisions. I'm sorry this is so long but any help and info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

I did our wedding as an intimate add on. You need to book your accomodations prior to booking the wedding and must supply a confirmation number to your sales manager. There are many ways to book your stay, I usually book directly through Disney and hope for annual passholder rates to come out and then modify my reservation.

Wilderness Lodge is a wonderful and romantic hotel. It is one of my favorite places to stay.

Do you know the location that you want to have your wedding? This could play into where you stay since you might want to be close to the site when getting ready for the wedding. We stayed at the Boardwalk and had our ceremony at Sea Breeze Point. That way all I had to do was get ready in my room and then walk down the Boardwalk.

Have fun with your planning.

I had an add-on as well. You just have to book 4 days in a Disney hotel to be able to do it. You are treated just like a regular intimate bride. So, no worries. Have fun!

Theresa,

Yes, it is typically going to save you money if you book your own reservations and do your Intimate Wedding as an add-on. A WONDERFUL place that updates all the discount information as soon as it comes out is mousesavers. Go to http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html to see the information about discounts on Disney resorts.

As far as your hotel choice goes, I think that each of Disney’s resorts is very well themed and unique. I would just pick the resort that you like best and go for it! Be sure to request a king bed when you make your reservation and again at check-in. It’s not guaranteed, but it’s worth a request. You can also browse pictures of the different Disney resorts online to see which ones appeal to you the most. If you go to http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_hot.htm you can read fact sheets and see pictures of all the different resorts (the links are on the left hand side of the page).

Happy planning! :)

Thank you all so much for all of your responses. As you probably went through yourself, the intitial planning stages are both exciting and nerve-racking at the same time! I'm probably going to do our wedding as an add-on since it seems to be the most economically sound for us. I don't care if we only save a couple of $$. It's still $$ saved! Thank you all again. I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions in the future.

Have a great day! :flower:
