I hope this question is not too personal.

What do most of you guys spend on your WDW vacations?

My family of 4 is going in a year or so and it looks like it is going to cost about $3,000 for 4 to 5 days. Just wondering if this is normal?

Thanks!

Sounds pretty high to me....guess it depends a lot on where you're staying. We spent $2000.00 for 8 nights last year. (family of three)

2,500 for l0 days last August.

Are you stayin at the Ritz?

Herc.

Well...first of all....you are quoting prices in advance without benefit of a code.....(a "code" is a discount on hotel rooms that is announced approximately 90 days ahead of your planned arrival)...codes apply to hotel rooms....these codes help you save money on your hotel rates.....www.mousesavers.com will list these codes closer to your arrival date.

Also...you didn't specify the ages of your party...this could make a difference as well....

You didn't specify as to whether your cost is for hotel only...does it include tickets??....airfare??...meals??....

Hard to say if your cost is high...based on the info you have provided.....

If you provide more information....I'm sure you will get more helpful feedback!!

Happy Planning!!!!!!!!

I've finally gotten a final tally on my upcoming trip next month. We, 2 adults & 1 child, will be staying 9 nights total; the first night at Hampton Inn near the airport, then 8 nights at AKL. It looks like this:

Flight: $700
1 night Hampton Inn: $49
Yourride Limo to/from MCO: $180
5 day park hopper passes (DC discount): $614w/tax
8 nights AKL standard view (code rate): $1303
A day at Discovery Cove for 2: $440
Yourride to/from Discovery Cove: $45
MNSSHP for three: $85
Food, Hoop Dee Doo Reveu, Watermice, Souvieneers, tips, misc. $1800

Total $5216

I did rewards programs and earned roughly $800 to offset the costs of the "extra" & more expensive meals.

Last year I took my DGDthen6 for 4 nights at ASMu for $2200 on a Resort Magic package. If you take away the extras I have on this trip (Limo, Discovery Cove & MNSSHP) this years trip goes down to about $4500. So, booking things seperately, I was able to stay at a deluxe resort for almost the same per night cost as I paid for the value hotel vacation last year.

You'll have a blast however much you spend, so don't think you have to spend a fortune to have fun at WDW. Hope this helps!

We spent a total of about $4500 for 8 days and that included (for 2 adults) - this was booked through a travel agent

- POFQ hotel
- length of stay passes
- roundtrip airfare
- rental car (midsize)
- food
- Universal tickets
- souvenirs
- tips

This year we are staying at AKL (savannh view) for 8 days and I booked it myself using a code. We got a specially priced version of the Discovery Magic Package (basically includes 2 meals a day). I figure we will spend about $5000 for everything listed above.

Hope this helps!!

The price of the limo quoted at 180 round trip sounds high. Must it be a limo? Tiffany is less than half of that for a towncar.

My trip is going to cost roughly $7000 for 14 days

What are including in your $3,000??

We're going for 8 nights, and it looks like this:

DC (maybe) $40
2 AP's $750
kids passes $692
PC, character and full service Disney dining - $580 (will probably be less)
groceries $80
accomodations - timeshare
gas for car - $200?
1 nt. CR - $66
2 nts. hotel on road - $120
That totals $2528. Kids will buy their own souvenirs, and I'm not big into souvenirs. Rounding up for any extras - $2700 for family of 5, but that's without cost for accomodations and with AP's so dh and I can go again in the summer sans kids. We might spend the extra to get AP's for the kids, too.

Can you take a hopper and upgrade to an AP and get a DC discount?

We are a family of two adults and one child.

We spent about 2,200.00 on our last trip this past January and didn't feel like we cheated ourselves out of anything.

We had good rates at the ASMo 60.61 per night for 7 nights. We drove down with travel cost about 150.00.
We had 5 day hoppers pass through AAA. We ate one character or sitdown a day, breakfast in the room and counter or food court for the other meal. We did HDDR and bought a few things shopping.

We are staying at the contemorary next trip so it will harder to keep cost down.

We go for 9 nights for $1,500 (2 adults 1 5 yr old)
camp in popup at $280 for all nights
4 day hopper $566 (AAA)
transportation $225 (drive from Indiana)
food $300 we eat at campsite, snacks & waterbottle
for parks & counter service sometimes
one character meal
Misc. $100 (souv. for daughter, film, we're not big
souv. people)
the off days we hike around, visit resorts, go to a beach on the
coast, read, swim, ride the monorail, take the boat for evening
ride, ... this year we might go to the parks for 3 days and just
get one day passes which are about $400 for the 3 of us for
three days. Epcot is not one of the parks our daughter enjoys mainly, MK and MGM
Total about $1,400-$1,500

We have 2 adults and 2 children under the age of 9.
Park hoppers
Food
Gas to drive and hotel to stay in on the way there and home.
All Stars Hotel
Souveniors

I probably have too much padding in my gas, food and souveniors. I would rather have a little left over than have to really count my pennies. I appreciate everybodies help. When it gets closer to the time, I know I will be able to do this trip a little cheaper.

Thanks!

We are a family of 4 and our budget looks something like this:

Tips for skycap, bellhop, limo, mousekeeping - $64

Total for 4 people, 7 days = $3,465.21

Have I forgotten anything?;)

We are going for 14 days in Jan 2003. Dh, DD and myself.

So, yours sounds pretty good to me!!!

Well, we certainly spent MUCH more than that on our trip last November, but we went all out (it was somewhat of a celebration trip)! We spent 10 days at the Boardwalk, 2 rooms, 2 adults, 3 kids (well, one who Disney considers an adult  )...we had our PAP's, so that was no additional cost - rented a mini-van for the length of stay, ate one sit-down meal per day (dinner), lunch/snacks in the parks, breakfast in the room - but the REAL killer for us was the Food and Wine Fest. Oh boy did we enjoy ourselves there!!!! Total was in the $7000 range, including air fare....

Next up...8 days in Southern California, 5 days at DL...budget, less than half the cost of our last vacation!!! :p

1 adult 2 kids (9 & 6)

airfare $463.50
9 nights hotel = $809.00
car rental = $225.00
AP's ( 0 ) run out during our stay
Sea World = $150.00
MVMCP = $90.00
Food & shopping = $ 1000.00

so roughly about 2,750.00

Budget for November 2002 - 2 adults, 2 children

Airfare from Boston x4 $640
10 nites at ASMu $530
Annual passes $1450
Boarding fees for pooch $300
Food allowance $700
Shuttle to Logan airport $100RT
Tiffany Towncar, w/ tips $100RT
Souvenirs, tips, film $180

Total = $4,000

Food includes breakfast in room, case of water purchased at Publix, one character breakfast, one or two sit-down meals at Epcot.

Plan to return in 2003 for MNSSHP -- will have
A/P so goal is to spend $3,000 unless airfare
takes a giant leap.

Sounds like a lot of money, but I look at it as $100 per person per day!
