I have an ADR every night of our upcoming trip for breakfast and for dinner. No lunches.

My question is, do you think it's bad to have an adr for every dinner. I'm thinking about canceling 1 or 2 to leave some flexibility in our schedule. What do you guys think?

It is easier to have the ADRs and cancel them if you change plans (assuming they aren't for character or signature meals, where a minimum cancellation time applies) than to not have ADRs and try to find a sit-down meal.

I generally stick to one ADR per day, but we're not breakfast people. If you think you're going to want all those meals and you don't think it is eating into play time, I'd say keep them for now.

A couple of the breakfasts I scheduled for inside of a park so that we can get in before it opens, take some good pictures, have breakfast and already be in the park ready to go around opening.

The CG requires a 24 hour notice for cancelling. I also have one at Artist's Point, I don't think there is the same rule there but I'm not sure. AP is on one night and CG on the next. I think I'm going to cancel one of them, but not until I know for sure.

No I dont because I do the same thing. I make very early (8 am) reservation for breakfast and 6 pm dinner reservations. We do not eat lunch but will share a snack if we are hungry.

I never used to do this, we would eat breakfast on the fly, share a lunch that we really didnt like and then eat dinner. We like having a nice breakfast better, Kona is the best!

Personally, I think 2 TS ADR's each day is too many. I am assuming from your plan, that you will not be on the DDP.
We too are not big breakfast eaters. We get a grocery delivery and stock up on light breakfast items for the room. Then on the DDP we have one TS meal a day, usually for dinner, but occasionally at lunch. We use our CS credit for the other meal. This suits us fine and is more than enough food for us.
An ADR for breakfast primarily to get in the park early and take pictures, then eat, would not be worth it to us.
Again, just for our family, I would have a relaxing evening meal and cancel some of the morning ADR's
Good Luck with your decision.

I like breakfast more than lunch. I think I'd rather have a big breakfast and then just grab something mid day whenever hungry.

I though a nice dinner every night was a good idea. Now I'm mostly concerned with the dinner breaking up the day too much. We already will probably leave the parks mid afternoon for a break. If dinner is going to take another chunk of time out, that might just be too much.

I'm so confused. I made these adr's like 170 days ago and now I'm doubting them. Probably just normal, pre-trip concerns. The only thing is, I've never made all of my adr's in advance anyway - but with the dining plan's popularity, I figured the restaurants would be busy.

DH and I do this. We prefer to have an early sit-down breakfast in the parks before they open and then a sit-down dinner around 6:00 or 7:00. We don't do a big breakfast every day but most days. We do this on the dining plan, we just pay for the breakfasts out of pocket since they are cheaper. Both of our trips have been during the free DDP promotion so I don't really see at as an extra expense since we are getting our dinners for "free".

I think it just depends on your touring style. If you prefer a big breakfast and a lighter lunch and dinner then, cancel some of your dinners. It's your vacation, do what you want to do and what fits your style.

For our trip this July, I currently have 10 ADR's, most for lunch or dinner, and one breakfast for Chef Mickey's. I made them so far in advance because I'd like to get good times, however I might end up cancelling some of them.

We also like having breakfast & dinner ADRs, but never make one for lunch. If it were me, I'd cancel a few breakfast ADRs, if I were going to cancel either. It's much more difficult to get into a TS restaurants at dinner. That is, if you're not planning to eat a character breakfast every morning. If so, keep those ADRs. Mostly, I wanted to suggest that you not cancel Artist Point. It's our favorite WDW restaurant. :)

Keep your ADR's!

We had the every day during our 8 day stay and it worked out great for us. You can always cancel them that day if you change your mind but at least you'll have an option.

Yeah, I've almost 100% decided to keep AP b/c of the night it falls on during our trip and I've never been there. I love the CG and was planning on going friday with the whole group of 8 and then again on our last night w/ just me and my wife and dd3 after the rest of the group had departed. I'm thinking of waiting until 24 hours in advance to decide whether to cancel that 1st ADR.

We have lunches and dinners for every day when we go too, we did it last time and it was fine :cutie: but if you think you need more flexibility you could cancel some :)

If you want to eat dinner at the places you want to, WHEN you want to, then keep your ADR's. We do this all the time and if our plans change, we cancel. That way, we have some "insurance".
