Ok...not to date myself...but it has been probably 10 years since we did it at the DL hotel. I remember there being drinks/snacks ..VCR movies..again not trying to date myself here. And when we came back at turn down Mickey Rice krispie treats dipped in chocolate. Does that seem still the norm? I am just thinking for the extra $200.00 a night I can hit the candy store and make my hubby walk back slower. Someone mentioned they had a gift waiting for their little ones? Feedback anyone?

Thanks for letting this rat lover rant!

I certainly don't have extensive experience with concierge, but we did stay 1 night at PP this year, and they did not leave rice crispie treats. They did on our first ever visit, when we were also celebrating my twins' 5th birthdays. That trip and last summer at PP we got the chocolates and turn down service (not staying concierge) and both DLH and PP left "cards" and towel wrapped birthday cake when we stayed. Look on the hotel threads, there are some very good pictures that show you what the offerings are. They do a decent continental breakfast every morning, including espresso and good coffee (way beter than the room coffee) and soft drinks. The offering get a bit nicer going up from PP to DLH to GC...but I was totally happy with what even PP had. In the evening they do wine/beer reception and hot items and a lovely variety of cheeses (I love cheese) and then desserts goodies. You can still get free movie rentals too (didn't use them).

When I think it's definitely not worth it: when it's not for a family of 4 or more and you're on a budget, when you won't be in the room much at all (otherwise you might only be able to take advantage of breakfast time). If you are splurging and will be in the hotel often enough to take advantage of more than just one breakfast, etc or pampering the family then it can be "worth it". Also keep your eyes open for discounts, sometimes the concierge rooms will also qualify for a 25% off room-rate discount.

It has been a few years since we stayed at the PP concierge as well. It was worth it to us. We have three boys and at the time one was a toddler. We had breakfast every morning and we made it back for the snacks in the afternoon and the beer/wine reception a few times. They also let us take the prepackaged uncrustables (PB&J sandwiches) back to our room and into the park. We also stocked our room with milk and waters for the boys as well. When we were there my middle son became ill and it was nice to be able to bring the movies back to the room to watch. There were also games in the concierge room to play as well as a computer to use. The check in was also nice and smooth as you are able to go directly to the concierge room. It is a little more in price, but the perks are worth it for a family of four or more. Oh...They did leave little chocolates every night as well as rice krispy treats the second night :)
