Question(s) about wine packages?

Hello All,
We are LONG time WDW travelers , but taking our first Disney cruise this summer (we've cruised many times before, but with other cruise lines) My planing stage has led me to questions about the wine packages (which we always get on other cruise lines) but want to compare Disney Wine Package details

First question (and most importantly) : can we utilize our wine package if we choose to just have dinner at Cabanas one night ?

Second question : what's the best way to purchase it? I see you can purchase in advance as part of the "gifts" section, if one does this is it printed on your card? Or is it better just to wait and purchase onboard? Will there be tables set up to purchase when we first arrive?

1. Yes, I have used a wine package in Cabanas
2. I do not know if there is an advantage to ordering early. We just buy on board.

Our server just asked us on the first night if we wanted to purchase a package. Super easy. I don't see any real advantage to pre-ordering it. Looks like the cost is the about the same on the website as it was on the boat.

The last time we sailed was on the Wonder. After boarding we went to Parrot Cay for lunch. A cast member aproched our table and offered us a wine package for our sailing. If we didn't finish a bottle our server kept it and it was on our table the next night.
